Chris Beattie is a comedian based in Dundee, originally from East Kilbride. On top of his comedy, he is formerly a drivetime radio presenter, host of Dundee Oktoberfest from 2016 to 2019, and voice of Dundee's open-top bus tour. He acts like he's embarassed when these things are mentioned, and yet somehow, they always seem to make their way into conversation.

As it's Friday night I've decided to announce the headliner for the Panopticon Comedy Club Oct 11th! (The rest of the acts will be announced later on in the week) As well as the accolades below he was also a finalist of the Laurel Comedy awards, lets welcome...Scott Scott TheRedman Redmond!

Scott Redmond is Scotland’s leading Romani poet and comedian. He has headlined comedy shows on four continents, including a national tour of Cambodia and a two month residency at the Comedy Joint in Bangkok this year. He has also reached the final of the national Chortle Student Comedy Award. His work on BBC The Social has more than 4 million views, his debut poetry collection was published by HybridDreich, and he has appeared at festivals including Hidden Door and Latitude, amongst all the usual Fringes. In his spare time, he is a medical student and frequent nap taker.

Davy Mitchell has been on the comedy scene for 16 years with a break for the COVID nonsense. Probably a mid life crisis so by doing the maths he should live until he's 108😉 he began with Sit Down Stand Up and gave a lot of gigs (and cash) to some of today’s top acts. He doesn't chase gigs around Europe any more and only selects the ones he enjoys the most. The Panopticon is his favourite venue ANYWHERE.

First up at the Panopticon Comedy Club on October 11th is Oliver Pi**ed:

Oliver Pi**ed has been serving up word salads for the comedically impoverished since 2015. This hyperbolic alcoholic character has stranger than fiction diciton and a vernacular that's pure dead spectacular.

Oliver is an award winning alternative comedian, slam poetry champion and founder of cult alternative comedy show Clusterfck Circus as seen on YouTube.

Mr Pi**ed has performed all over the country including Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Glasgow International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Jeannie Jones is a stand up comedian with 10 years experience, based in Scotland. She gigs for independent comedy promoters all around Scotland. Jeannie is also the regular MC of the hugely popular “Over The Lyne Comedy” which brings comedy to rural communities.

Jeannie hosts “EdinBra” (a female compilation show) at Edinburgh Fringe in the Free Festival. She has also hosted compilation shows at Glasgow Comedy Festival, Leicester Comedy Festival and Brighton Fringe. She also had her very well received solo 45mins at Edinburgh Fringe in 2022. Jeannie is also an occasional stand in host for Nik Coppin’s compilation show “Shaggers” a show with acts doing material about s*x and relationships.

Rio is a 22 year old with more labels than the local Tesco with Cerebral Palsy being one of them. He has burst onto the comedy scene and has enthralled audiences with his Glasgow banter and tales of being single and his bigoted grandfather!

tasha mott is the youngest comic in scotland, but is disappointingly aggressively english. she talks about her experience with bipolar disorder, being a student, and scrutinises her own heratige for 5 minutes.

Next up is Kyle Samuel : Captivating audiences since 2022 with his distinctive deadpan charm and ability to find humour in the seemingly mundane, Kyle has went onto win the 'Beat the Blackout' gong show in London and come runner-up in Stockton's Beat the Gong. He also proudly represents the International All Stars in the prestigious Roast Battle League.

Andrew runs his own media company 'Ginger Media LTD' and returned to the stand up comedy scene in 2022. After completing the Ultra Comedy Course and a making his debut at The Edinburgh Fringe this year, Andrew has also performed at The Stand Red Raw, organised his own variety show 'Giggles and Guffaws', as well as performing at The Glasgow International Comedy Festival for the last three years running.

Jane Walker is an Edinburgh-based writer who’s been dabbling in stand up for several years. Recent gigs include The Best of Red Raw (The Stand) and guest appearances on the It Just So Happened podcast. Jane’s birth was announced in the death column of the local paper, setting the tone for much of her life (and her subsequent stand up sets).

Alan Ritchie is an up and coming stand up emanating from Paisley. He is fairly new to comedy but has been smashing shows up and down the countey with his sharp observational humour. His quick wit and warm charm keeps the audience laughing throughout with tales of getting old and dealing with his technophobe parents.

Zubair always had the comedy bug. In Manchester University, he set up the first Comedy Society and gigged around student unions. He also has done standup shows in Pakistan, along with improv and stage shows. He regularly attends and smashes gong shows - proverbally and sometimes literally. He’ll make you comfortable, then uncomfortable, he’ll talk about things that are easy then downright challenging. The man’s a comical roller coaster. Being a product of different cultures really helps him expand his material, and expand your entertainment.

An avid traveller and fake English teacher, comedy's answer to Ed Sheeran, Kieron Power is an up and coming comedian from Northern Ireland currently based in Glasgow. A Critic described him as "a true force to be reckoned with" but in the same sentence labelled him as a "random spraffing daftie" and "aggressive ticcer". Only in comedy is it possible to be all 3 of those things simultaneously without being on some sort of government watchlist. Come along and experience the sometimes unhinged madness! Christopher John Stephen has been involved in stand up comedy for the past twenty years (but don't worry if you don't recognise him, he's just that sort of fella). Mainly based near Glasgow, where he is a recognisable regular on the Scottish comedy circuit, he has participated in gigs and festivals for over a decade and even been a promoter and host at times, mainly at the Glasgow Comedy Festival but also at the Edinburgh Fringe. With a mix of observational and self-deprecating humour, he is one of the "nice guys" of Scottish comedy.
