🎶 Care Home Visits 🎶
Last night, some of our lovely community in Glasgow from the Southside Strummers, visited a local care home
Everyone had a fantastic time and I’m sure they made a lot of people very happy
What a lovely way to kick off the festive season, and hopefully many more will come after this!
Huge thanks to Peter and Wendy for organising this ❤️
Good morning!
We can't wait for this event on Tuesday! Who's coming along?
Seeing as our recent jam venue, The Corona, is changing hands, we will not be on next week!
SO, why not come along to another fun filled ukulele event instead? Who knows, there may even be a wee jam session to join in with afterward!
Hope to see lots of familiar faces there

🎶Music Matters🎶
A day late, but ‘mental health day’ really really matters!
Here at the Scotland Ukulele Project, it has been so heart warming to see how impactful our ukulele community is becoming!
Each week, we are seeing friendships being made, confidence growing, people developing their skills and pushing themselves out of their comfort zones, and most importantly, friendships and connections being made ❤️
I hear stories from people every week about their lives, and how feeling part of something, and spending time with others playing ukulele, lifts their moods and can take them from a bad day to a great day
Connection is super important, and I’m proud that we are becoming a space for people that really helps them with their well-being and mental health ❤️
Here’s some pics of some highlights over the last week!

I am super proud of this glorious bunch over the last couple of months!
As part of our funding, one of our goals was to create a ukulele group and perform at Glasgow Pride
As our funding starts to come to an end in a couple of months time, I am absolutely blown away as to how we not only played Glasgow pride, but we also played Arran Pride, West Lothian Pride, the Barras market Pride Market and Leith’s picnic in the park!
Over the last year our group has grown in size and in heart. Each week we jam out at and we also run beginner blocks every so often with too
I am so proud of what we have achieved as a group, seeing friends being made, people growing in confidence, and becoming great musicians on the ukulele too!
The power of music, the ukulele, and people coming together is nothing short of incredible 😍
We are hoping to continue to grow and expand, with some of our members training to deliver ukulele beginner workshops, and lead too. We’d love to find out too if anyone would like to start a group in Edinburgh or somewhere else too? We’d love to help you get up and running!
Pride UK tour next year anyone? 😜

We LOVE working with Maslows and providing ukulele lessons to the local community of Govan, and providing access to music for the Refugees and children who come along too
By providing travel expenses, this really opens up more opportunities for people, as otherwise most of their weekly budget would be eaten up by travel
Any support of this crowdfunder would be amazing, and it would really help those who don’t normally have opportunities, be able to access so much more!
Maslows provide an Internet cafe, advice for refugees and assistance with day to day admin and bureaucracy tasks, English classes, craft classes, yoga, , self defence for women and of course… UKULELE
Check out their post and the link to donate ❤️🙏🏼
🌟 Support Maslow's Community Hub: Help Us Cover Travel Expenses for Free Classes! 🌟
Maslow's Community Hub, since its launch in January 2023, has been providing a welcoming space for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn new skills and connect with others. We run free classes every day, including: English, Computer, Arts and Crafts, Crochet and Knitting, Ukulele, Self-Defense for Women, CV writing workshops, Housing advice workshops, a film making course, internet cafe and one-to-one support sessions with everything from setting up an email address to applying for universal credit.
People come to our classes from different parts of Glasgow, and for many of them it is vital to get their travel expenses covered. Without funding to cover travel expenses, over 60% of our regular students will be unable to attend. This not only means that they will miss out on opportunities to learn new skills, but also essential time to socialize and integrate in to new communities.
With the current rates of attendance, we will soon run out of funding to pay travel costs. We are hopeful that we will receive a fresh grant in the coming months to sustain these costs, but in the mean time we need your help to keep providing our services. 🙏🤗
If you are able to make a donation, please follow the link to our donation page:

Your donation will directly impact someone's ability to participate in our FREE classes. Even a small amount can go a long way! 🙏🥰
