For this special winter edition of the magazine we looked at parallels and overlaps of the worlds of luxury, craft and whisky. Featuring an exclusive behind the scenes look at Savile Row’s Golden Shears winner incredible tailoring, and the innovative ingenuity of artist / maker / , who creates the highest of high end pieces for the biggest names in whisky.

We first spotted ‘s incredible work in the streets of Lisbon, celebrating Fado musicians with beautiful gable sized murals. 🥂 Saluti! Here’s our design for ATTIVO Vino Spumanti Brut Nature Biologico, an organic sparkling wine from Emilia-Romagna, produced for the UK’s biggest wine subscription club, Wine52.

The design was partly inspired by the unusual forms and natural materials we saw at Salone de Mobile in Milan last summer, as well as echoing the ‘active’ nature of the bubbles and the abstract grooves of the vineyards.

Here’s how the Deanston images looked as spreads. The images were designed to be full bleed, more like a fashion feature, heavy crops so the focus is on the drinks, and space for the ingredients. We’d wanted to create a shoot with a subtle narrative in it too - so there’s a little love story as the night progresses from bar to club…

Perhaps the most satisfying aspect of Whiskeria cover feature was the attention to detail and flavour Julie and took in developing a 9-course Nyona Supper Spread whisky pairing menu. We feel food is, generally, a brilliant way to access and explore whisky, and Julie’s expert, nuanced understanding of the symbiotic relationship between Southeast Asian flavours and Scotch whisky was a huge hit.
