That’s my recent “Digging With Divine” show uploaded to Soundcloud to listen again. Seems to have a jazz theme this time… good music, nervous chat. Music kicks in at 35 seconds in - tracklisting below...

Another Anster Adventure on the Twin Tables of Soul! Saturday night I’ll be spinning in the intimate surroundings of Bread & Butter Cafe, Anstruther. .anster Well, *I* won’t actually be spinning, the records’ll be doing that. Apparently it’s John’s birthday, so he’s suggested going a bit further out, weirder and fuzzier - let’s see where that takes us! 😍
Kicks off at 8pm and finishes off about midnight - free entry, and it fills up pretty fast. Come grab a fish supper and a wee dance!
Real nerds keep… all three? The first two Kraftwerk albums are great, and have sadly been out of print for years, unavailable digitally and will possibly remain so? Pre-electronic, funky abstract progressive rock with great flute and guitar grooves alongside heavy avant-gardening, paving the way for the sound they’re more famous for.
Do I need a French release of the first, an original German 1st press of the second - or keep the U.K. Vertigo double album coupling them both? Before anyone asks… no, it didn’t cost £3.
Are there really people who enthuse about how much cooler a push-out centre is versus a solid centre? Dear reader, I am sorry to report, these nerds walk amongst us. 😍 And… I know… it isn’t even an original!
*** AUGUST DIVINE SPOTTERS CORNER #2 ***
A monthly feature showcasing the tracks which got the spotters notepads twitching - or at least making polite enquiries at the decks. The disc jockey's role is to educate and entertain, always happy to share!
THE CHERRY SLUSH "I Cannot Stop You"
Fantastic slice of gnarly Michigan garage punk, with great Beatles-esque harmonies and pounding drums and guitar breaks. A Glasgow club favourite since the early days of Eyes Wide Open...
Here’s a better Belle & Sebastian related photo! The group played at the Royal Albert Hall in 2001, and had the genius idea to get me and our good friend Sean to dress up as Statler and Waldorf from The Muppets and heckle the group from one of the royal boxes. Can’t remember who I was, probably the grumpy bald one.
“Boo! Terrible! That was the worst thing I’ve ever seen! Well, it wasn’t that bad, there were bits of it I quite liked… actually, it was great! Bravo! More!” I remember some fans actually getting quite annoyed with us, thinking we were genuinely slagging the band, despite a spotlight illuminating the box and the outfits! Later immortalised on an official playing card… 😍 Just seen the whole concert has been uploaded to YouTube, amazing!
No, this isn’t some fancy Instagram filter, this is genuinely how rubbish the camera on my phone is! Good times at the Belle & Sebastian “Glasgow Weekender” after-party on Saturday night at SWG3. And very cool to know members of were getting down too! 🙌
Adventures on the twin tables of soul continue tonight at Queens Park Bowling Club. Last time I checked there were literally a handful of tickets left, link in bio tree. 🌴

Anyone have any memories of this one?
Nice wee pull at the carboot sale this morning. Been hoping to find this great Scottish post-punk 45 “in the wild” for many years. Was nestling in a pile of random 60s chart hits and apparently belonged to someone’s granny??!! Who possibly wrote “FROM STIRLING” on the front... 🙌

Few tickets left on the door and all proceeds to - get involved! 👍
One for my graphic design pals. Found in the “archive” (aka old cardboard box) - anyone else remember BUYING fonts and having to send a cheque and receiving a floppy disc in the post a few days later? Still love (and use) Data70 so was probably a fairly wise investment… 25+ (???) years ago. Hope the licence is still valid… 🤓 Sometimes it’s very weird thinking of life pre-internet.
PACS! Period Appropriate Company Sleeves. It’s how we roll at Divine HQ. Although I think there’s one minor mistake here… 🔎 Can’t really get my head around collectors who chuck the sleeves and put them in plain white ones!
I've always loved rooting out the obscure originals of hit cover versions and, conversely, spinning obscure cover versions of the big hitters!
Used to spin The Clique's original of R.E.M. "Superman" back in the day to mildly raised eyebrows and dancefloor indifference - with hindsight I think the R.E.M. version possibly wins this round! 🏅
The Clique - Superman Track ten from their CD "Sugar On Sunday: The Definitive Collection."

Picked up a cheapo disco funk 12” this afternoon, I’m intrigued by the sticker - have any old Glasgow jazz-funk heads heard of the Black Knight Disco Road Show? “Ask for Bob” circa early 80s…
The poacher turns game-keeper! I’m bringing a few boxes of records along to the Vintage Pop-Up Market at on Saturday. And, no, I’m not selling any rare northern soul or freakbeat!
Got plenty of affordable classics, obscurities and randoms - mostly albums and a wee box of sevens - and will be bringing vintage clothes. Come by, come buy and say “hi!” 11am till 4pm.
