January transfer window is open, and Gold Medal has made a big signing!
We are very happy to be sponsoring the hugely talented MMA fighter Fraser Patterson and lead his strength and conditioning training to optimise his performance.
Fraser is one of the top amateurs in the UK and is the current Goliath and M4TC welterweight champion.
He has another title fight coming in April where he attempts to become the CHAMP CHAMP CHAMP 🏆
We are looking forward to seeing what progress Fraser makes with us.

Our Stef has been absolutely flying since she started training with us and is one of the most improved in the gym. She is absolutely feral and wild, but we love it.
She has made more gains since these photos, and we are buzzing to see what more progress is going to be made in 2024 📈
British Wrestling is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Gary Hickinbottom as British Wrestling’s independent Judicial Chair.
Sir Gary takes over from Nick De Marco KC who has served the Association for the full length of the agreed term. British Wrestling would like to thank Mr De Marco for his commitment and integrity in chairing the Judicial process for the past 10 years.
Sir Gary Hickinbottom is a solicitor, who practised in commercial and public law until 2000, when he was made a full-time judge. He was appointed to a succession of judicial appointments in both the court and tribunal systems including Designated Civil Judge for Wales and Deputy Senior President of Tribunals, before being made a High Court Judge and a Judge of the Court of Appeal. He has been appointed President of Welsh Tribunals from April 2023.

What is it and why do we do it? 🤷♂️
SGPT = 1 personal trainer to 1-5 people.
Simply put, it’s personal training but not 1:1. 👍
With over 20 years experience in the fitness industry, we’ve trialed and tested EVERY personal training/fitness model…
Nothing compared to SGPT. 🙌
It was the best, most efficient and most effective model for our members. 🔥

1. It’s 3x cheaper than 1:1 personal training. 💰

Not many gyms can boast to having one coach going to the Commonwealth Games never mind two.
Well we can!
Kieran is joining Cammy and is heading to Birmingham to represent Team Scotland.
Tremendous achievement by both of them, leading by example showing plenty of hard work, consistency and commitment to get there. All the things they talk about as coaches, they don’t just say it, they live it.
I think Kieran’s words are very apt to close this post.

We are over the moon for newlyweds Chris and Cara on their exciting news. Extremely exciting news, as superwoman Cara’s not just carrying one baby in there but TWO. 👶🏻👶🏻
We were delighted to help this Gold Medal couple get in shape for their wedding last year and we’re feeling very privileged to help them prepare for this next chapter too. 🤰🏻
With lots of experience in pre and postnatal training, Cara is in very safe hands with us. She’s smashing her adapted program whilst being mindful of her heart rate the whole time using our MyZone monitors to do so. And, even though she’s carrying two little ones in there, she’s still managing to put Chris to shame (but don’t tell him we said so). 🙊
Training through pregnancy has many benefits. It can help reduce pregnancy pains, increase stamina to help with labour and delivery, help with weight management and, most importantly, it helps prepare you for all the lifting and carrying postpartum… Which, let’s face it, is going to be a lot for Chris and Cara when the Moyes twins arrive. 💪
Fitness benefits aside, a lot of our mums and mums-to-be, say the best thing about training is the mental clarity it gives them. From the normality in amongst all the new changes, or the routine that helps pass the time till their new arrivals come, or, for our already mums, the much needed ‘me’ time that they rarely get… It’s essential for them. 😅

Here are 3 tips we feel that can help supercharge your results… 🚀
1️⃣ Focus on your ‘calories in’.
People get too caught up on the amount of calories that are going out (being burned) rather than calories going in. Whatever health tracker you use, it could be over-estimating how many calories you are burning. However, you are in full control of what you are consuming, hence why this is the number you should focus on. 👀
Focusing on calories going out is like throwing buckets of water on a sinking boat without actually fixing the hole causing the flooding. 💦⛵️
2️⃣ Don’t buy any tempting foods.
Even if you have the best willpower in the world, if it’s in the house, it can tempt you. If it’s not in the cupboard, it’s out of your mind. It takes that temptation away. 🛒❌
Make your life easier, we all know if there is a good packet of biscuits in the kitchen, it’s often difficult to stop at one. 🍪🤐
3️⃣ Book or plan your training at the beginning of the week or the night before.
Commit to your training time. By leaving it to a last minute decision, you are allowing a chance for the busyness/stress of everyday life to give you an easy out to miss your training. If it’s a concrete time then you are more likely to follow through and walk through those gym doors. ⏰
Or better yet, join a gym like ours. One with PTs who care, enjoy your company and that you look forward to seeing. One with a community of people that are also rooting for you to show up. The accountability that comes with a gym like ours goes a long way in helping you to achieve your goals. 🔥
