Legendary Scottish post-rock titans Mogwai are returning to Hong Kong next year for a gloriously intimate show on 16 March 2025 at The Box, Freespace at West Kowloon Cultural District.

Mogwai have been pioneers of post-rock since the 90s, crafting epic instrumental songs way ahead of their time. While Britpop was blowing up everywhere, Mogwai carved out a space of their own. Their early albums “Young Team” and “Come On Die Young” are still mandatory listening till this day. Ever-evolving, Mogwai’s 2021 album ”As The Love Comes“ topped the UK chart and introduced them to a new generation of followers.

It‘s been a decade since their last visit to HK at Clockenflap 2014, and with new music just released and latest album to follow, there’s no better time to catch them live in all their glory.

2025年3月16日，蘇格蘭後搖滾巨擘 Mogwai 將會相隔十年再度訪港，喺西九自由空間大盒舉行大型專場音樂會！

九十年代英國Britpop浪潮席捲全球，身處英搖盛世，有人歡喜有人嬲，遠在蘇格蘭格拉斯哥嘅四位band仔對當時日播夜播嘅各種流行搖滾曲風感到相當厭倦，而佢哋嘅反動方式，係從美國post-hardcore樂隊取經，炸爆所有既定嘅旋律和弦節奏結構，炸到剩返排骨，再喺焦土上重新建立自己相信嘅搖滾美學，一種被後來者歸納為後搖滾（post-rock）嘅美學。

樂隊名源自經典可愛魔幻恐怖片《Gemlins 小魔怪》中，閒角以廣東話對班大耳小妖嘅稱呼。Mogwai 由1997年首張大碟《Young Team》開場曲〈Yes! I Am a Long Way From Home〉3分44秒嘅結他大爆炸起，為當時樂迷開拓出一幅全新音樂版圖。繼千禧前後一連發表《Come On Die Young》、《Happy Songs For Happy People》、《Mr Beast》三張經典鉅作後，Mogwai愈發精於編寫既能狂暴洶湧，又能細膩深邃嘅史詩質感；陸續有不同電影人邀請樂隊製作電影配樂，而第一擊就係頗具實驗性，以法國球王施丹為主角嘅紀錄片《Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait》。

Mogwai喺2014年嘅《Rave Tapes》完成再一次變奏，將電鼓、合成器、modular大量融入編曲中，兇猛依舊，形成擺脫已成框格嘅後搖滾，甚至有丁點舞曲元素嘅電氣魔怪風格，兩年後為紀錄片《Atomic, Living in Dread and Promise》配樂嘅其中一首〈U-235〉更係100%電子樂曲。全新進化為樂隊引來新一批年輕樂迷，連續兩碟打入英國唱片榜Top 10，2021年嘅《As The Love Comes》晉身冠軍大碟，現場演出亦更加豐富。

愈夾愈有貨嘅 Mogwai 今年推出全新單曲〈God Gets You Back〉，並宣布喺2025年舉行世界巡演，我哋好開心可以話畀大家聽三月會有香港站！今次係佢哋繼2014年Clockenflap主舞台壓軸登場後，久違十年嘅香港公演，嘆過爽過嘅資深樂迷們自然知道Mogwai現場係值得睇無限次嘅跳牆級音樂體驗，新入坑嘅朋友仔，亦係值得你哋瞓身期待嘅第一次。
