What an amazing week of graduations so far! 🎉 Lilian Thuram, a star from France's 1998 World Cup-winning team, and Lauren Mayberry, the amazing lead singer of Chvrches, and Strathclyde alumna are among eight distinguished figures honoured by Strathclyde University at this summer’s graduation ceremonies.

They join over 3,000 students who are receiving their degrees at the beautiful Barony Hall.

Our Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Jim McDonald said: “We have great pleasure in welcoming to Strathclyde these exceptional and highly achieving people to receive their honorary degrees. Not only have they reached high levels in their respective fields, but they have also made positive differences to society, in their professions and in campaigning to raise awareness of major issues. As a socially progressive university, we regard them as ideal examples for our students to follow, in their lives and their future careers."

Congrats to nearly 600 Primary 7 pupils from 15 Glasgow schools who 'graduated' from Strathclyde's Young Strathclyder programme! 🎓

Held in the Barony Hall, the ceremonies celebrated the achievements of these young students, many from disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme aims to raise aspirations and support educational attainment through engaging activities designed by our four faculties.

Supported by our Strathclyde student mentors, these learners are building confidence and a sense of belonging in a higher education setting.
