How to Swim

Some stuff happening:
Next month, a gig in Glasgow and then one in Barcelona (details to follow), then we’re back in the studio to record some new songs. Life is short, why not spend it doing the stuff you love?

Slightly belated photo dump of some shots from the Glad Cafe gig last month, as well as our Barcelona show in the summer and some other bits and bobs.

Huge thanks to everyone who supported the band in whatever way this year - particularly those who turned up to our baby steps return to live performances at The Glad Cafe in Glasgow and Nota79 in Barcelona, and Andre and Alan who took some great promo photos of us (and a shout-out to Jamie and Heather for some lovely live shots featured below). It's been really fun to be back playing again, with new pals and old, and it's genuinely lovely to see there's still some interest in what we're doing after such a long time away.

So with our informal hiatus now officially over, we're hoping to do a bunch of exciting stuff this year. We're confident there'll be more gigs, and there'll definitely be new music coming very soon, including the long delayed Greek Active album, as well as the Bars 'N' Loners compilation record. We're also toying with doing something to celebrate the 20th (Jesus...) anniversary of 'It Stings When I EP', one of our more fondly remembered early releases. Either way, we're definitely keen to get back on it and we're hopeful you'll come along for the ride.

Christmas Bleeds Into Christmas, by How to Swim from the album Melt

Surpriiiiiiiise!

A new Christmas single, recorded (mostly) in a single take on 14/12/21 in Shawlands. Inspired by the Beatles 'Get Back' documentary, we decided to record a new track from scratch in a single evening, under the scrutiny of video cameras. The resulting track, Melt, was completed just today, and features a spoken word section from celebrated Scottish author Alan Bissett. The 'Peter Jackson version', the video of the full two-hour recording session, will be released in a few days. (For diehards only...)
