A pair of Aston Martin v12 cylinder heads that underwent a light refresh. Fitting new bronze valve guides, a seat cut and light skim over the head face.
We’ve seen so many Jaguar blocks like this. On this one the main tunnel is not straight and true. You can see InThe video. The outer main housings have touched and cleaned meanwhile the middle housing haven’t, but they have touched on the caps. This is now a process we undertake on all our engineering builds to make sure we are getting uniform oil clearance across all journals and a nice free spinning Crankshaft.
This Alfa 6c was being line honed to true up the main housings before having new bearing backs made to suit the line hone. We found out of round .002”, taper across the journals at .0008” and size difference of over .007”
This way the customer knows the new backings will be sat correctly in the block with confidence.
The finishing touch to powder coated camshaft cover, using a PCD cutter we get a sublime finish. Being that’s it’s the first you see when opening the bonnet this particular customer never fails to add this to every engine build.
These v12 heads underwent a full restoration with us. We take pride in checking all aspects of the cylinder head to guarantee the work we produce, we take the time to fit camshafts without valves and springs for free turning, clocking in manifold faces and machining if necessary to guarantee gasket sealing as-well as making modifications for things like modern style valve steam seals
A recently machined 300sl cylinder block, after caustic dipping the cylinder block was line honed to straighten the crankshaft line and correct sizes. The block was then bored, decked and hone to size.
Ferrari 365 rods for an engine recently machined with us, both ends of the rod were reconditioned.
Were able to machine almost all con rods with large range of finishing mandrels
The finishing touch on a Ferrari 355 Challenge freshen up, we had the pleasure of line honing the block and addressing the factory titanium con rods on top of going through the cylinders heads.
That’s another pair of Ferrari 250 heads out the door and back to the customer.
A full rework, guide bosses machined to suit the later style guides with Viton stem seals, full set of new valve seats, 3 angle valve seats cut and refaced to an equal thickness.
The finished article…. Recently completed, dyno’d and returned to the customer for a summer of fast road driving
A big job converting this talbot to shell bearings, we doweled the main caps, machined bearing tangs, machined oil grooves and centered the shut line correctly. Stay tuned for full pictures on the finished article
Just last week we had the pleasure of machining this Ferrari 750 Monza
Another Ferrari block finished with a full set of now in the clean room for full inspection
Our recent Jaguar engine build at the midway point, we aim for the highest standards on all of our work.
Mercedes 280sl block all finished off. Caustic dipped, line honed, bored , honed and decked.
The Mercedes block all finished, the sump face had been trued to the mains and the caps line honed straight and perfect on size
A light refresh on this clio race car ready for another season, the new diamond stones have made a huge improvement to the standard of honing we can produce.
Getting the 4.2 etype engine build into full swing,
A pair of Ferrari 308 heads we completed some time back for repeat customer. After having the full works we also addressed the inlet manifold faces to help seal them properly.
A Ferrari 250 cylinder block we finished a short while back, the work that goes into these blocks to make them as good as they are when they leave us is un-paralleled.
We work with a number of the countries best Ferrari specialists.
As promised, a full set of top hat liners from this one is being built by for a fast road XJC restoration.
That’s the Jaguar off the line hone, stay tuned to see it get a full treatment of
