Thank you to everyone who has supported my small business over the past year.

It hasn't been an easy time due to my ongoing back injury issue, but I'm hoping at some point over the next year that my continued rehab will turn this around and I'll be back sewing properly again at my sewing machine.

Your support and kindness has been and is invaluable. ❤️

So I'd like to say have a wonderful Christmas everyone and to wish you all a very happy and even more important, a very healthy 2024 when it arrives.

As per my previous post I will no longer be making pre made aprons for sale next year so this is your last chance to buy! 🥰

These aprons are ALL that remain in my stock now and for this reason alone they are being sold at greatly reduced prices.

Each authentic retro apron is totally bespoke and has been handmade by myself to a high standard.

Everyone needs an apron at Christmas so why not be the glamorous person wearing one?
Plus it protects clothing whilst cooking ! 🥰

Postage and packing will be at an extra cost unless you are local to Grange over Sands where items can be collected in person direct from my workshop.

Please be aware that Royal Mail has recently increased their prices over which I have no control.

The service I generally use is the signed for parcel service so I can track items securely.

I am happy to send items by normal 1st or 2nd class post to keep postage costs lower, but if you do choose this option please be aware that I cannot be held accountable if items were to become lost at this busy time of year.

Payment is by bank transfer or cash on collection thank you.

Important please message me directly to secure an item rather than commenting on the images as sometimes comments can be missed.

Winter sale announcement update!

Over the next few weeks leading up to christmas I will be having a WINTER SALE on items I have in stock.

Many of these items are perfect for Christmas gifts and are one off items, all individually made with care and attention to detail by myself.

As from next year I will 'no longer' be creating authentic retro aprons for sale unless they are to specific commission orders only.

Therefore if you have been pondering on purchasing from my remaining apron stock then please don't delay as once they are gone they're really gone!

The last year and a half has been a toughie for Johnny Biscuit Design. I'm the sole workforce and due to health issues which I'm not going into, I've unfortunately not been able to create as frequently as I would have liked. It's been very frustrating because as many of you will know my passion is sewing.

I am hoping this will change in the coming months as my health picks up slowly, but all I ask is please please bear with me.

For this reason alone I am having to give some thought as to what I can and cannot do in the short term in regards to what I create here at Johnny Biscuit Design, but I would like to categorically say that Johnny Biscuit Design IS still open and this will not change in the foreseeable future 😊❤️.

So do keep an eye on the forthcoming posts if your interested in purchasing.

For anyone who might be wondering what's happened to Rex?

Well here he is. He's still at the foundation stage, but has now had his two front legs wire framed and re stuffed as well as one of his back legs too. The last back leg is still a work in progress. It's important to get this stage right otherwise everything else will be a waste of time. Structure and strength is so important.

As you can see he's now standing tall and proud rather than like Bambi on ice. 😉

I said it would be close to a year before he's finished and I wasn't joking. As soon as this stage finishes the patching will commence. This will consist totally of scrap fabric pieces that quite possibly would have ended up in landfill if left unused. Waste not want not ☺️.

When 🌷🐾 met Rex 😲.
I've told her she's still the boss!

Still a huge amount of work to be done on him yet plus some reinforcing of the front legs before the patching on the body starts.
Ears and tail come last.

He looks like Frankenstein's dog at the moment, but fingers crossed all will be well in the end. 🤞 😉

No ears yet, no tail, no stuffing or even a top coat, BUT ... we do have his body, his frame, the start of this lad becoming my interpretation of a life size airedale with a twist! 🥰.

Well it's not every day I get to cut out a pattern for a 30 inch tall (when sitting) airedale!

I have absolutely no idea how this will turn out so I've decided to make it up in calico first and then scrap patch him (a bit like the lifesized hare I made before). He will be a representative and not an identical replica of the breed.

I couldn't afford to make him up in faux fur we'd have to take out a second mortgage just for the fabric costs! 😉

Fingers crossed I can understand the confusing pattern!

If I didn't have a bad back before I'll certainly have one after. Here was I thinking if just doing small projects until my bad back heals.

Where was my head! 🥰

Two styles as promised made up of my new fabric print.

I've created a 4 inch wider band for these two samples as it shows the print off to its full advantage. It creates a lovely turban effect headpiece.

One of these is being posted off tomorrow to be road tested. Lets hope it passes it's wear and comfort MOT.

New soft organic stretch cotton jersey fabric...

I've been lucky to source a small amount of this beautiful quality fabric which has just the right amount of stretch to make it feel ultra comfortable when worn.

The print design is perfect for year round wear and just look at the bouquet of colours! Ask yourself how many outfits would this
co-ordinate with?

I only have a small amount of this fabric so order numbers will be limited.

Price will be set depending on amount of fabric used.

Widths for this headband will start from 3 inches wide in order to make sure I use the gorgeous print to it's full advantage.

At the moment I'm planning on two styles, pleat or tab top.

My first headband will be made up this week and as with all my headwear it will be fully road tested first before I open my book to commission orders.

Trial sew pleat top headband in a new cotton jersey stretch fabric.

This one's for me! ☺️

Pleat or tab top.
Wide or narrower band.

This fabric headband is perfect for summer however you wear it. ☀️

Just to add, unless it's pre made stock I already have in, all head wear is being made up to commission orders only at the moment. Hopefully this will only be on a temporary basis.

New fabric!

New mannequin.
This lady once graced House of Frazer or Kendals as I know it!

Further to my last post here is another version of the wide headband made up in this beautiful quality stretch cotton jersey bee fabric.

This design has a pleat top. The band width is almost 4 inches which gives a turban appearance.

I have been asked about making these bands in a narrower width. The smallest I can do would be approximately 2.5 inches otherwise I would be losing the print of the bee.🐝

This print headband will be for orders taken by commission only.

New stock fabric.

I've managed to obtain from an independent source this absolutely beautiful quality stretch cotton jersey fabric.

The print is set on a navy backdrop with a pale pink and semi sparkly gold bee design.

I've made up one headband so far. This one has a tab top and is slightly wider than my usual bands at approximately 3.5 inches width giving it a turban look.

I can sew the headbands in different widths with either a tab or pleat top.

I will be making these on a commission only basis.

Prices will vary depending on style, width and size.
