Lamination Vs. Hybrid Tinting - What’s the difference?

This is a good comparison on the same client 5 weeks apart. On the left is a brow lamination inc. hybrid tint and on the right is a Hybrid Tint without the lamination.

Lamination gives more of a fluffy brow look with the hybrid tint focused more on the bottom half of the brow to keep the brows looking fluffy and soft. The hairs are lifted and set in place for a sleekly looking brow - we are adapting the growth pattern of the hair so that the hair lies smoothly and the growth is more uniform.

The hybrid tint on its own creates a defined brow with a soft skin stain under the hair similar to HD brows. It can give the temporary look of ombré brows without the commitment. The stain can last up to 7 days on the skin and 6 weeks on the hair.

I’m excited to introduce some new natural brow treatments this year! There are some fantastic new products and treatments available (things have changed quite a bit from when I did natural brow treatments many moons ago!) 🌝

If you haven’t heard of hybrid tints, let me explain a bit about them. Hybrid tints are designed to leave a skin stain for up to 7 days on the skin and 6 weeks on hair. This allows you to achieve the temporary look of ombré brows without the commitment of permanent makeup. The hybrid tints I’m using are henna-free and infused with bond-building technology to repair and protect. These tints are different from your standard brow tints and unlike any other product currently available. They contain 53 peptides, serving as both a treatment and a tint, promoting the growth and health of eyebrow hair. These tints come in various shades that can be blended to suit each individual client.

5 Models needed for Wax & Hybrid tint - Includes brow cleanse & exfoliation, precision tint application with skin stain, wax, thread, tweeze, and finishing.

If you’re planning a brow appointment please remember that you’ll need at least 4 weeks healing time before heading off on holiday this summer. ☀️ If you’re a new client then I recommend planning your appointment 10 weeks prior to sun holidays as you’ll need to come back for your touch up appointment after 6 weeks and allow 4 weeks healing time from this date.

Hi 👋, I thought I’d reintroduce myself, especially since I no longer have a website. It's always nice to get to know a bit about the artist behind your permanent makeup!

I’ve been involved in the beauty industry from a young age. Leaving school at 15, I attended college to work towards my HND in beauty therapy and spent my weekends working in a medical spa in Glasgow. I qualified as a beauty therapist In 2006, and took a leap of faith and opened my own beauty business in Hamilton. A few years later, I discovered my passion for transforming brows as an HD brows stylist.

After taking a 6 months out to travel in 2015, on my return home I decided to train in permanent makeup and a year later, I opened my current studio in Hamilton. Over the years I've attended lots of masterclasses with some of the most talented artists worldwide and I now use a combination of the techniques I learned.

2020 brought unexpected challenges with multiple lockdowns, but it also gave me the chance to explore another creative outlet. During the 9-months of closures, I started making jewellery to pass my time and after returning to permanent makeup I decided to carry on with the jewellery in my spare time. In 2023, I officially launched , and now my time is divided between my permanent makeup studio in Hamilton (Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays) and my home jewellery workshop on Thursdays and Fridays.

I absolutely love tattooing brows and find three days a week is the perfect balance for me as it requires so much precision and concentration. I’m a complete perfectionist and give every client 100%.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me outdoors. I love trail running, climbing hills, and camping. ⛰

Ombré brows straight after. Keeping the fronts nice and soft on the first session will let me see how the pigment heals in the clients skin, as everyone retains pigment differently. I can always add more at the touch up if needed. I find a lot of new clients are nervous about brows being too bold/dark, so going easy on the first session helps ensure a natural result which I can then build on at the touch up session if required.

Ombré Brows will last 18 months to 3 years before a colour boost is required. This will vary from person to person and things like skin care procedures, sun exposure etc. can fade brows quicker.

Following your brow tattoo, proper aftercare is crucial in achieving the best healed results. During your appointment, I'll guide you through the aftercare process. You'll also receive a digital copy before your appointment, so you can plan ahead. It's important that you read through it carefully.

Keeping your brows dry is really important. I understand it's annoying and a pain to wash your hair, but trust me, it's absolutely worth it for the best healed result! I'll give you some brow shields to help keep them dry in the shower, but you'll need to avoid hot steamy showers.

Pre-drawing vs. finished result. 2nd image is healed brows before touch up. Pre-drawing can look a bit scary and unnatural but you need to trust the process! I need a good, strong template to work from and the finished result will be much softer.

Just a quick post to let you all know about a few changes happening soon. Some of you may know about my plans to relocate the business to Falkirk but I have decided to stay put, so I’ll still be based from my original studio in Hamilton.

I’ll be in the studio on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will be sharing the room with Saby Aesthetic Studio who’ll be there Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

I’ve been pretty quiet on here for a while. (can’t believe it’s been so long actually!) I thought I’d give a quick update.

I’m still doing brows, but I’ve also been working away on something a bit different. I’ll be launching a jewellery business in a couple of weeks! - I started making jewellery back in 2020 when we were closed down for months due to Covid and it’s all kind of escalated from there!

I still love doing brows so I’ll still be here, but I’ll be dropping my days down to 2.5 days a week as of next month.
