We’ve had the digger going all week this week to build and create a garden for the lovely barn conversion 2. Hopefully the customer will actually get some nice weather to enjoy it when it’s completed!

The final roof on this huge plot is looking good. This is above barn conversion 3 that sits on the end of 1 and 2. It won’t be long before we really get started on the inside of it and we can’t wait to share the results with you.

Barn conversion 2 of 3 on this site is almost complete inside now with just a few minor snagging jobs to do. Built to the same high standard as conversion 1.

We’ve had a busy week here at I M Builders. We’ve had the crane in to lift up 40 roof trusses on to barn conversion 3 on the site. After getting them all fixed in we got the drone up to show you what its looking like. This site is huge and you can only really see it from above.

Here at I M Builders we wish to inform you that the tools are down and the office will now be closed for 11 days. We will reply to any messages on our return on the 10th of June , take care people ☺️

It's a dirty job but someone’s got to do it ! And it’s definitely worth it. Here we have been backing stone off to reuse from an old wall, which was once the external wall before the barn got extended. Now it is replacing weathered stones and building the gables up on the third barn conversion on this site.

And here are the pictures of the third barn we are converting on this site. They all started out like this and this is our beginning on this one. It will be built just as professional with the same high standard as the first two. We can’t wait to share this one’s journey with you!

We’ve completed a couple of separate fence and gate jobs already this month in between the barn conversions work . Removing and replacing the old gate , posts and panels to match the 2 separate customers requests. We also design and supply the gates and panels for our customers.

We’ve had the drone up again to show the sheer scale of this site. On the right of the pictures you can see the first barn conversion we’ve finished and completed, in the middle is the second barn conversion we are progressing well with now and on the left of the pictures you can see the third barn conversion which we’ve now made a start on.

Here at I M Builders we’ve been so busy since Christmas we havnt updated for a while. We’ve done numerous small jobs in between our main job, but our second barn conversion on this site is really progressing now as you can see from the pictures and we’ve also started the third barn conversion which il share on a different post 👌

We thought wed share the photo captured on our drone of this site so you can see the scale of it. On the left you can see barn conversion 1 that we’ve now completed, in the middle is barn conversion 2 that we are currently doing now, then on the right you can see barn conversion 3 that we will be starting very soon. You get an idea of the job better from above.

So this is how far we’ve come with the 2nd barn conversion on this site. All the floor joists and boards are in with all the internal walls up. The windows and patio door are in (with the help of the loadall !). The plumbing first fix is complete and the electrical first fix is going in now, then wel get all the insulation in ready for the plasterboards. The 3rd garage for this site has also arrived so that will be erected next week with a lean to bin store attached on the side. We’ve got some great pictures from above with our drone , you can see the first barn conversion on the left , the 2nd conversion in the middle and then conversion number 3 on the right that we will be starting very soon. This site really is starting to look amazing 😍

Here is another small local job we’ve just completed. There was an old fence to remove with quite a lot of tree and root removal before we could start the new fence chosen by the customer. Just look how straight that new fence line is 😍

This is another of our small fill in jobs. Removal and disposal of the old fence to then level , re post and re fence with the panels chosen by the customer to match.

Here is the ground work and garden we’ve completed for our first barn conversion that we built on this site. We levelled and flagged an area of 110 square metres , created a turfed lawn with some sleeper beds , then to finish it off we decked a corner area with a path for our customer to enjoy the sunshine ☀️ when we get any that is ☀️!!!

This is the first reason we havnt posted anything since may ! We’ve been continuing to finish the first barn conversion ground works , while really cracking on with the second barn conversion … and in between we’ve done a few smaller jobs that we call our fill in jobs if we are waiting for anything on the bigger jobs. Here is our first “fill in job”. This area was all ground decking with a decking balcony above it. We started by replacing and strengthening areas of the balcony decking to guarantee its safety for years to come, then we removed and disposed of all the ground decking. This area was then levelled and flagged with a wall built around it to match the old house bricks to give the customer that lovely quiet space to relax and enjoy.

Our barn conversion no 2 is going well on this site. We’ve got the wall plate up in block and followed up in stone. The new gable wall in barn 3 is going up, we’ve got the party wall between barn 2 and barn 3 nearly finished. The scaffold is up on barn 2 and we’ve started stripping the old roof so we can build the new stone heads and fit new roof timbers and steels. It’s amazing how quick things are progressing and every day it’s taking it’s shape to resemble the home it will become.

The second barn conversion on our site is now on its way. We’ve got it all stripped out inside, the new party wall is going up and we’ve made a start on stripping the roof out to build the new gable.

This is one of our smaller jobs we’ve squeezed in this week for a new customer. We’ve replaced the old rotten and warped French doors, then we’ve replaced the rotten facias and boarding to the dorma window. While we were up there we also replaced some slipped slates on the roof. We like these smaller jobs to keep us ticking along when we are waiting for things on the 2 big sites.

And here it is .. the finished barn conversion and garages, one of three we are doing on this site. It was good to get the customer moved in just in time for Christmas with just a few bits of snagging left to do. A perfect time to enjoy your new home.

We haven’t posted for a while as we’ve had a very busy couple of months, exactly how we like it! We’ve finished the first barn conversion and have made a start clearing out ready to start the second on that site , pictures to follow. We’ve also had a house move and Christmas and we’ve still managed to get a new site up and running for one of our previous customers!
We are rebuilding this wall with new openings using the old garage doors while converting the office studio into a bathroom and dressing room.

Our baby addition of the van is now out and about on the roads and looking very well.

Site 2 is also well on the way. After completing the courtyard extension on this site we’ve now returned to do a garage conversion. We’ve created a gap and fit new bifold doors into it, put a new door on, built in new stone cills ready for the new windows and put the timber floor down ready for the new kitchen to be fit. All the joinery has been completed by our newest member Tom, welcome to the team Tom.

I M Builders have got two different sites working at the moment. Site one-barn conversion one is progressing well, the upstairs now has the plaster board in. Barn 2 is stripped and dug out with the footing laid for the new wall that will divide barn 2 and 3 up. So all 3 barn conversions are in full swing on this site.
