Members of the Thirsk & Malton Area Constituency planning committee at North Yorkshire Council today resolved to grant permission in respect of our reserved matters application (Ref ZB23/01987/REM) for the construction of two large (x1 4-bedroom & x1 5-bedroom) homes on our land at South Otterington.

Exactly why power to the people and local politicians does not work where housing delivery is concerned.
Time for the Government to get serious and to take the political football out of the game by privatising planning decision making with a professional body of national planners spread across the width and breadth of the country ensuring decisions are made simply on the basis of national and local planning policies - as they should be- with no room for political interference.
Simple!
High time the conservative government took some firm action to boost housing delivery instead of laying the blame at the feet of developers, in an attempt to appease backbenchers and our nation of NIMBY’s - an utter insult to our young and first time buyers who are finding it harder than ever to get on the housing ladder, which can surely only lead to a wipeout at the next election…

Delighted that planning approval has been granted to Barratt and David Wilson Homes (Yorkshire West) in relation to their application to construct 48 new homes at Coniston Avenue, Darton on a site enabled by Yorkshire Land Limited.
Almost three years ago we started working on this one. Well done to all involved!

Norcroft Hall
Designed by Yorkshire Land in 2003, in conjunction with Spawforth Associates, to meet the aims of PPG7, to allow this generation the opportunity to add to the tradition of the country house which has done so much to enhance the English Countryside.
The first 75 years of the last century saw the destruction of more than 1,000 country houses.
Norcroft Hall was influenced by Georgian architecture, however, reproduction of such a dwelling with an authentic Georgian Plan form would’ve been inappropriate for today’s lifestyles, therefore the design reflected the re-imagining of the Georgian house, encompassing up to date technology and standards which meet this generations living requirements.

Christmas 2021 is almost upon us. Where did that come from!?
Looking back over our year, it’s truly been one we can be proud of with many highlights, including the sale of the first phase of our Pen*stone site, for 400 new homes, to Barratt and David Wilson Homes (Yorkshire West) after 10 years of work and terms agreed or at an advanced stage for the acquisition of a further 120 acres of prime strategic land across North, South, East and West Yorkshire.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of all our team and valued contacts - our sincere thanks go out to you - you know who you are!

3 Acres of Allocated Housing Land to the North of Pennine View, Darton now contracted to Barratt and David Wilson Homes.
Great to see the planting scheme taking shape at the Jubilee Roundabout, Harrogate.
Unlike almost every other roundabout in Harrogate, the Jubilee was left unloved, often uncut and left to weeds, despite being on a main arterial route around Harrogate and on the main approach to The Army Foundation College, which welcomes parents and dignitaries from around the country, several times a year, to their passing out parades - A proud moment for all those involved and the Township of Harrogate.
With this in mind and living locally, our set about changing this, with a design paying homage to the towns connection with Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, through the Army Foundation College.
We are so pleased with the result!
Just spring/summer bulbs to go in now and this scheme will finally be complete and we can’t wait to see the planting in full bloom and continuing to grow and become established next year and beyond!

Britain will never build the homes it needs if Greenfield/Green Belt land is to be discounted, with only brownfield sites to be considered.
Developers will always build on brownfield, where viable; we ourselves have a history of developing several large brownfield sites across Yorkshire in the last 34 years.
However, those brownfield sites that have not been developed are, for the most part, untouched because they simply are not viable or do not lend themselves to development.
Will this political wrangling ever end?

This site was identified as Green Belt within the Local Development Plan. However, further strengthening our longstanding track record of successfully achieving planning permission on difficult sites, planning approval was achieved by our company, before we sold the site to Pen*stone Developments, who subsequently constructed this first class development of family homes.
