🚶‍♀️ Residents at Three Bridges take part in Warrington Walking Day 2024 🚶‍♂️

A longstanding tradition dating back to the 1800's, the annual Walking Day has become a time for celebration in Warrington - and the residents at Three Bridges Nursing Home joined in the fun with their own special event!

"As Warringtonians, we are so proud of this tradition" said Wendy, Administrator at Three Bridges Nursing Home. "Our residents have taken part in Warrington Walking Day's their entire lives, so why stop now?"

Having their own street party, residents continued the tradition in the comfort of the nursing home, thanks to the amazing team at Three Bridges. What a fantastic idea!

What a lovely gift to receive from Bruce's family 🎁

Zenka and the team at Chatsworth Lodge Care Home recently said goodbye to Bruce as he returned home, and were given with this wonderful gift from his loved ones!

A retired SEN Learning Disabilities Nurse, Bruce came to stay with the Chatsworth team for a short-term respite break. Although only there for 2 weeks, Bruce's family were so happy with his care they wanted to give something in return 🥺

Remembered for his kindness and love of all things creative, Bruce was an absolute joy to care for, and the team are so pleased he's able to return home to Jackie! Thank you to everyone at Chatsworth Lodge for providing exceptional care to our residents ❤️

Jackie, resident at Lofthouse Grange and Lodge Care Home, was recently inundated with well wishes after we shared her incredible story of being a foster mum to over 300 children (yes, you read that right 😲 )

Alongside her husband, Ronnie, Jackie helped raise over 300 children in the span of 40 years; many of whom still regularly visit her, and three of which they adopted. Now with 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, Jackie enjoys spending time with her loved ones and has even had a surprise 80th birthday party, thanks to the team at Lofthouse Grange & Lodge!

The third stop of our Cruise Around Britain tour is complete! Our Welsh-themed week was a culinary delight, featuring Rarebit, Bara brith, and Welsh cakes that could make a dragon drool. Every one of our homes pulled out all the stops: we had lambs dropping by for a bleat and greet, colleagues donning sheep costumes to entertain, visits from singers and so much more! It was a baa-rilliant week!

Living at Castleford Lodge Nursing Home, Joseph had a lifelong dream to build his own plane, and managed to successfully complete his challenge in retirement. We spoke to Joseph about why he loves flying so much, and how rules and regulations were possibly too relaxed in the 60s! 😅

Happy Father's Day to all the incredible dads and father figures out there! To celebrate this special day, we spoke to Leslie and Jean, father and daughter duo at Nesfield Lodge Dementia Care Home, about their incredible surprise reunion at the home.

After losing touch over the years, Leslie and Jean found themselves living together once again in the Leeds care home, and have been inseparable ever since! We love a happy ending 🥺 ❤️

All the staff and residents at Orchard Care Homes were greatly saddened by the news of the Queens passing. She was greatly admired by us all for her dignity, grace and dedication to serving her people. She will be sorely missed. Rest in peace your majesty.

The Orchard 2021 bake off winner is announced!! As the sweet aroma of cake subsides from our corridors, we now have a winner from a high class entry of cake bakers and decorators. This year Pauline Nolan a carer at Langfield care home in Middleton has pulled out the stops and come up with a real work of cake art as I'm sure you will agree. Pauline is a keen cake baker and can often be seen baking cup cakes with the residents of Langfield. Well done Pauline, some vouchers are on their way. Hope you enjoy your cake!
