For someone who couldn’t live much further away from the sea it has become apparent recently how much I love the water. I placed this order in January and These prints arrived in store this week and they just sum it all up!
In the last few weeks I’ve had dip at Whitley bay, a rainy wild swim in a Lake District tarn, a paddle in the river nidd and even a bubbly hot tub.
I think I realised how much I love the water the most when the rain after the heatwave came and I just sat in it to cool down!
I think it’s time to invest in a paddleboard.
I think there are more and more people been drawn to the water to lose their mind and follow their soul.
Know anyone who might like these? Give them a tag.
Also available in card
Evening everyone!! ☀️ Who doesn’t need an ice cream in this weather!!? 🥵tag a friend below ⬇️who you think needs this top the most!!👇
PEACE ☮️ and LOVE ✌️
Our entry into Floral window competition in celebration of Harrogate in Bloom.
When I heard about this competition I knew I had to call on the best in the business and we put our heads together and after a two minute discussion we came up with this.
It was always going to involve festival flower power where us two are involved 😂
We wanted something present, current and relevant too and also eye catching and thought provoking.
We all need a bit of peace and love at the moment so here you go…
Complete with butterflies, peace signs and John Lennon tinted sunglasses.
Pop down and have a look for yourselves!
Peace out and good vibes all around # # # 🌎 🌈
IT’S GLASTONBURY WEEK! 🎉
What are you packing, apart from EVERYTHING!! Our everything bags are so handy for festivals, holiday and much more. They come in white, grey black and pink! They can be bought in store and online for £30!
Happy Easter! 🐣
I hope you all get many eggs 🍫 We still have lots of gifts, cards and clothing etc if you’re in a rush!
Valentine’s Day ❤️
Ill be honest I’m not usually a MASSIVE fan…. Got far too much bigger fish to fry with a certain little boy’s birthday on the same day… or maybe it’s that association of red foil balloons , cheesy sayings and heart shaped bits and bobs found in a certain type of gift shop or maybe it’s the fact I don’t actually like the colour red 😂
but this year I do feel a bit different! I’m just happy and grateful we are open for it after being closed for the last couple!
We have given our shop window some LOVE and ticked all the boxes there and as you can see we have already really gone for it with the cards….
Valentines …. In a very Yorkshire way 😂 💕
So go on…
Roses are red,
violets are blue
show someone special they had you at ow do 😍
The new moon in Aquarius 🌙
Did you know Aquarius is the rebel of the zodiac , slightly worrying as it is Bertie’s star sign 🤦♀️
This moon is a freedom seeking moon that allows your hopes and dreams to be realised … a time to break free and follow your dreams.
For now I’m just relieved to be free from January and just dreaming of brighter , longer days ahead. The seeds are starting to stir and I may need to refresh myself with my New Years resolutions to remind myself what my dreams and aims are for 2022.
Ah yes….learn more about how the cycle of the moon and how it effects our day to days lives …. And listen to more podcasts 🎧
Anyone got podcast recommendations about the moon? 🌝 # # #
Loving seeing signs of the Spring colours slowly coming through in our new stock that’s arriving daily, although slightly relieved it’s still in the form of cosy throws as it’s bloody freezing!
It’s been so nice to work these January days and use this extra time in the shop to reflect and plan for Spring!
Today I had a lovely catch up with Sam from who brought in our delivery of these beautiful wool throws. She is an expert in wool and oversees the complete process from start to finish here in God’s Own Country and popped these straight out onto our shelves ready to sell.
Now all I need to do is upload them@onto the website 🙄
They are 100% British made, fully natural, fully sustainable, fully renewable and did you know naturally flame retardant too!
This is the future right? Which is why we have been using it for donkeys years I guess 😂
Anyways most importantly they are warm and snuggly and I might just have to wrap myself in one for the rest of the afternoon.
Happy Friday everyone
Treated myself to some crisp white Lilys to fill the gap left by the Christmas clutter.
As much as I love being able to see surfaces again and have a bit more space to move without knocking baubles off it does feel a little empty in our house. So much so Bertie even asked if we were moving house. I think I’m a bit of a contradiction to myself at times as much as I love the space I also love things!
I guess it’s a good way to start the year with a fresh clean clear space ready to fill with treasures as the year goes on.
First new addition are these silhouette vases from the shop. Creating and filling space at the same time … win win!
Small £12
Medium £14
Large £16
Happy New Year!
First “proper” day back to the routine of being aware of what day of the week it is and precise timekeeping of logistics so that everyone is In the right place with the right gear before 9am.
The shop is looking fresh and raring to go and ready to welcome customers and brand new stock!
It’s a crisp bright dry January day today and I’m feeling positive but I know we may have some quiet dreary days ahead. It always surprises me how in a matter of days we go from being so crazy busy we don’t have time for lunch to only a handful of customers a day but this less hectic time gives me chance to reflect and plan for exciting things in 2022 and to be honest anything is better when the shop door is open right? I used to dread Januarys in the shop but the comparison to a year ago when I was knee deep in printouts , pregnancy hormones, traumatic homeschool tantrums and no income makes me so grateful.
If I can get through January 2021 I can get through anything 💪
So I am going to enjoy looking to the year ahead and these Sophie Ward zodiac prints have kicked off a bit of a theme in the shop and I have based a window on looking to the stars for 2022 with some other products sneaking in such as star sign necklaces and socks too!
The most wonderful time of the year🌲
And this year it has been truly magical. Harrogate has shone bright over this festive season with its lights and festive fairground but most of all with its support and kindness to my little shop. After a year of ups, downs, and challenges we have had the most amazing Christmas season and a big thank you to you all for adding to the magic that makes my shop twinkle.
However you are celebrating and whoever you are with enjoy a moment away from this crazy world and have a very Merry Christmas ❄️ # # #
Christmas party outfit ✔️
Can you even have too many sequins at this time of year?? After the last couple of years I really don’t think so and if there is ever a time to go all out I think now is it!
I’ve still not quite got my head around wearing heels but will dust off the black ankle boots for a Christmas night out….otherwise I’m loving the trainer look with this outfit and the fact that it is as comfy as a lounge suit so you might just find me hanging around the house in this sipping baileys on Christmas Day…… (it has an elasticated waist)
Blouse £65
Trousers £65
Well worth every penny as the blouse might find its way to some festival in the sunshine next Summer too…. We can dream xx
•CHRISTMAS WINDOW 2021 •
Here they are in their full glory or at least as best I can capture them on my outdated slightly dirty iPhone camera. Safe to say they are best seen in real life at around 4 o’clock when it’s dark and cold outside and my little shop is still twinkling away. However they must have caught someone’s attention as they have been nominated for this year’s Harrogate Christmas Window competition and as we saw on Channel 5 a few years ago that’s a big deal in these parts!!
If you haven’t had chance to pop into Harrogate yet for a bit of Christmas shopping then it is definately worth a trip, I think this year more than ever it is looking super magical with helter skelter, train ride and the lovely lights. It is really lovely to be part of Harrogates Christmas scene this year and a honour to have been nominated alongside some fabulous efforts of other small independents! Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us this and hopefully see you before Christmas!
The winners are announced tonight so I’m keeping everything crossed 🤞
Which is your fave?
1.Merry and bright
2. Oh Christmas tree
( I’m not entirely sure which one it is I have been nominated for to be honest!) 🎄xx
Finally an insta post showing some of our new stock! As you can see I have had a bit of an insta lull shall we say and haven’t posted in ages!! (… combination of school hols and concentrating on my bricks and mortar shop which has been super busy with all you Harrogate staycationers! ) Although weirdly I still find time to scroll insta mindlessly.
You can tell I’m in the shop 3 days this week as I actually have time to update my website and do a post and I’m going to try and use this reset to post more as we have been stock arriving daily as the countdown to the “C” word begins.
So keep your eyes peeled online and in store and spread the word that us local lot are still here needing your support.
Check out these new baby pressies perfect for Yorkshire babies and handmade in Yorkshire too by
Nothing like a rainy Saturday in the shop to reinspire me to get back on it with the shop insta.
Must try harder! The truth is since opening we have been super busy in our bricks and mortar Harrogate shop with all you staycationers!
The “do insta post” is always there on that list of things to do but I think I’m more of a professional scroller rather than a poster! Anyways it’s great to be in the shop surrounded by colourful products and dreaming of being by the sea..... 🌊 Link for print in bio
•Burning the candle at both ends •
Lockdown has definately taught me to slow down (if that is possible with three children, a shop and a deckchair hire business) . There aren’t really enough hours in the day for me so that’s not gonna change anytime soon but I have certainly learnt to fill these hours with less and it somehow leads to me to achieving more! I love a list and everything and anything goes on that list even if it is just putting the recycling out or replying to a text the satisfaction of ticking it off at the end of the day is mind blowing.
These neon twist candles that are splashing the shop with colour and happiness at the mo!They look great and come in a nice box so perfect for a gift to anyone, everyone and even ourselves. Note to self don’t put in the shop window over a sunny weekend 🤦♀️lesson learnt there. Instagram post ✅ that can now be crossed off the Tuesday things to do list. 😊
Available online or in store.
Heatwave incoming! ☀️This year it’s all about wearing your holiday wardrobe wherever the sunshine is even if it is at home! Bringing Ibiza style to you with these Aztec boho print dresses in lots of gorgeous colours it’s so tough to choose ! Available online or come for a browse in store and if u close ur eyes really tight it might feel like ur browsing a beach stall on the white isle itself. 🎶 🏖 🌞
Short £55
Long £75
HARROGATE • YORKSHIRE Sometimes it takes a busy sunny bank holiday to realise how lucky we are to have a shop in Harrogate. Town was buzzing over the weekend with visitors making the most of their staycations and making popping in to our little independent shop part of their visit. Ok so we might not be up there with Bettys as a tourist destination in Harrogate but we like to think we are on the things to do map when visiting this gorgeous town. I guess the silver lining to not being able to jet off means that lots of towns with little shops like us might just be that bit busier and help give us the boost we might need after a tricky few months! If you did get chance to pop in over the weekend then thank you and if you are planning a trip to Harrogate over the summer months then don’t forget to swing by! Harrogate /Yorkshire prints £25 available online and in store
First Friday out out!! The sun is shining and it is perfect weather to be supporting all those pubs and restaurants over the weekend that have gone to such effort to make their Al Fresco dining welcoming and warm! Not only are do we need to decide what on earth we are going to wear (still no heels for me though.... one thing at a time) but we need think practically too and try and look fab and not freezing !
As a true northern girl I’m usually not one for jackets or coats but I could be tempted by a love molly poncho 💕. They are woolsilk and cashmere so are super warm and can be tucked into your bag and pulled out and wrapped round like a snuggley blanket if and when the beer jacket doesn’t work.
Still looking super stylish minus the shivering so you can make the most of being back out out al fresco!
We are fully stocked in store in lots of different colours or online too!
Have a good normalish weekend everyone
The glorious 12th!! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back in my happy place! The sun is shining ... town is buzzing and our doors are open! The last few months have been hard for everyone but especially small businesses on the high street. Watching customers including myself being driven to big supermarkets over peak times for their non essentials has been tough to take in at times and definately led to a lack of motivation with my shop that is usually my passion. However everyone’s support and kind words have allowed us to tick over online and I am so grateful for this! Shopping online with the big wigs will always be there and receiving orders the next day is even more beneficial when life becomes even busier and normality resumes. But I ask you to just make a little bit of effort here and there to support and shop local as it really does go such a long way and it has definitely made me think that there is way more to life than clicking and collecting. We need to feel inspired and pass that feel good factor on through interaction and by visiting our local high street we can help that happen. So we are open and look forward to welcoming you all back with open arms and in the words of Tiesto “let’s get back let’s get back to business” Meanwhile I need to get back to my Things to do list this week ........ 1.Shop reopening ✅. 2.Have baby 👶.......... # #
