Thank you to all our generous sponsors, The HACS Group ran the Yorkshire Marathon Relay today in York (in the rain), both teams finishing sub 4 hrs (just!). We raised a great Ā£6,265 including Gift Aid, for Saint Michaelās Hospice. Well done to all runners and supporters for giving up their Sundays for a worthy cause š§”šš»āāļøāļø
On Sunday 20th October, 2 teams of 6 from The HACS Group are running the Yorkshire Marathon Relay to raise funds for Saint Michaelās Hospice. This charity provides crucial care for patients and families facing terminal illnesses, a cause close to our hearts.
Saint Michaelās Hospice requires Ā£19,137 daily to operate, yet must independently fund 83% of their annual care costs due to limited government support. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will significantly impact those in need.
Your generosity will motivate our team on the day of the marathon. Join us in supporting this vital cause. Thank you in advance for your support!

Today weāre thinking about and this years theme āPlanet vs Plasticsā. Here at HACS Environmental we do what we can to ensure plastic waste isnāt going to landfill. On average 18%* of the waste from our current Construction sites is Plastics, at our facility here in Harrogate we sort and recycle waste from our sites (and other local businesses).
On top of operating our own waste transfer and recycling facility for all types of waste, we also operate landfill services, and a crushing and recycling facility for inert building waste to ensure the most environmentally friendly products are used on our own construction sites...as well as supplying thousands of tonnes of recycled hard core materials and soils each year to third party customers.
If youāre looking for local waste services and want more information please give the team a call to discuss ā» š
This week we celebrated our employeesā hard work and dedication at The HACS Group with a pizza lunch.

2024 is a leap yearā¦an extra day of hard graft, but this year we also celebrate 38 of our employees who have worked with us for 10 years or more, accumulating a total of over 630 years industry experience! Today we thank all our employees that keep the cogs turning, and also celebrate those who are loyal, dedicated, long standing members of our team š§”

Due to an increasing turnover and a full order book for 2023 weāve made some recent changes to our senior management structure here at The HACS Group.
We are delighted to have welcomed Neil Silcock at the end of 2022 as our new Construction Director. Neil joins us with a wealth of experience in the Construction Industry and we are thrilled to have him on board.
We would also like to Congratulate Jon Fox on the appointment of his new role as Technical Director. Jon joined the business in 2015 and has recently transitioned into his new role with specialist expertise in managing all technical and design aspects of our projects.
Mark, Eddie and Adam are likely familiar faces to you all, and continue in their relevant Director roles, now with Neil and Jonās valued support.
It's great to see our Brierley Homes housing development in Harrogate nearing completion, 16 of 19 properties have now been handed over to their new owners, and the final ones are due to be handed over by the end of the month. The new development is made up of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom properties, all with a variety of high specification finishes to meet the needs of each occupier, including quality fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, contemporary bathrooms, oak veneer doors, private landscaped gardens and ample off street parking. It's been a great project to be part of and we all wish all the residents at Woodleigh Close a very happy future in their new homes!
Our pleasure š„°
Weāre saying a big thank you to corporate supporter and Harrogate district-based The HACS Group, who have raised a fantastic Ā£15,000 to support Saint Michaelās Hospice as part of their 35-year anniversary.
The teamās efforts over the last two years include Total Warrior, which raised a remarkable Ā£10,000, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, half marathons and a variety of fundraising activities in their office.
The team chose to support Saint Michaelās Hospice as many of its staff have a personal connection. HACSā Commercial Director Eddie Ashworth said: āWe have always had Saint Michaelās close to our hearts, and as a local company with over 100 employees, many of our colleagues and their families have had experience and the benefit of services provided by Saint Michaelās.ā
Saint Michaelās Chief Executive Tony Collins said: āWeād like to say a big thank you to HACS for their fantastic efforts to raise Ā£15,000 in support of Saint Michaelās. Thanks to the remarkable support of our community, weāre able to ensure we reach those across the Harrogate district with personalised and compassionate care, in the right place, at the right time.ā
If youāre a business who would like to support Saint Michaelās Hospice, weād love to hear from you. Call (01423) 878 628, email [email protected] or take a look at our ideas of how you could support us: https://saintmichaelshospice.org/support-our-work/fundraise/corporate-support/
We have recently completed specialist repair works to the roof of the historic, Grade I listed, Ripley Castle. The work was aided by a Grant from Historic England who also commended the work once completed. During the works we found some clues that the roof was last worked on in 1818 and 1634...so it was well out of warranty! You can see the new roof in all itās glory in this great footage from Seenfromadrone.
At HACS we like to do things a little differently, instead of the typical end of year Christmas party 'The HACS Fest' is our annual summer company BBQ for our employees and their families to say thank you for all their hard work throughout the year. This Saturday saw the return of the HACS Fest after a few years off and it was back with a bang! The sun was out, the sausages were sizzling, drinks were flowing and the games underway. Thanks to all that managed to join us and we're already looking forward to next year!
Today concludes another spectacular year of the Great Yorkshire Show. Weāre proud to be long standing sponsors of the show and have once again enjoyed a busy, sunny and eventful few days, thanks to all that make it happen each year.
Also, a special thanks to our team at HACS Environmental who provided all the waste management for this years show.
After a very wet start the work on the new IāAnsons mill facility, in Dalton North Yorkshire, is progressing well with all 400 piles now installed and the new grain intake pits and warehouse well under way.
Steel er****on on the 32 meter high building is programmed to commence in Sept/Oct 2022 and the structure for the adjacent 770m2 storage warehouse is already completed. Itās great to see the project starting to take shape and we are looking forward to an exciting few months ahead!

We made it! The HACS warriors had a fab morning at Bramham, as a team of 23 we made it round the 12k course with 25 obstacles, the sun was shining and we were all smiling before AND after! Thanks for all the amazing support and donations, we made over Ā£9,300 (and still counting!), which we will add to our total fundraising for Saint Michael's Hospice!
Total Warrior Week has arrived! With only 4 days until the big day, the HACS Warriors are excited (and maybe a bit nervous) about completing the gruelling 12k obstacle course on Saturday. What better motivation than the incredible sponsorship we have received for Saint Michael's Hospice so far. We've smashed our initial target but would love to hit Ā£8,000 so if you haven't already please visit our page and donate to a fantastic cause...every little helps!
