South Coast Casting and Angling Tuitions

So I got the chance Sunday evening to pop out with Pablo and try out some of rods from the zulcron range which were kindly lent to us by Ben Arnold.

Well what can I say, they are great bits of kit for the money and they are all very capable of sending a lead a very long way.

The rods I used was the XT, XT Lite and the X-GT, all of the rods had a super fast recovery and were a pleasure to cast. I can see myself getting a set of these for my fishing very soon.

Some shots of charlie on a casting tuition earlier today.

Charlie was looking to learn some new techniques that would benefit his fishing. We made a few tweaks to the cast charlie was already doing which he benefitted from with instant results. We then move on to some ground casting techniques and looked at casting with the reel down low. He picked up the technique really well and his weight transfer was great, he was gaining more and more distance with every cast.

By the end of the tuition we had progressed on to a pendulum style that I find works really well with daiwa rods. With a bit of practice he picked up this technique well and was really pleased with how much extra distance he was achieving in such a short space of time.

Like and share competition winner Dave Burse putting a good bend in his rod this morning on a casting tuition.

Dave uses continental style rods with fixed spools and is used to doing a simple over head thump method. He said he wanted to learn some ground casting techniques and a more powerful casting technique for fishing that doesn't require the lead being on the ground.

He very quickly picked up the techniques and was hitting some really good distances.

Well done today mate you smashed it.
