Rosegarden 2022

Thanks to everyone who made Rosegarden 2022 a success. Thanks to all the performers and tech-experts, volunteers, donors and the team at the White Lion.
We don't know how much we raised yet, but that has always been secondary to having a celebration. If you do want to donate but couldn't because of our payment difficulties on the day, you can do do via our A-T Society button on this page, or through PayPal. Every little helps!

Rosegarden 2022 made it successfully to the end of the evening. Many smiles and only the odd (very odd) complaint.

Also well done to Little Club, who provided the children's entertainment. Big shout out to Dave P for his fabulous sound work... and to Andy for his brilliant contribution.
There are many more family and friends to thank. Suffice to say, love to all.x

Rosegarden 2022 is a FREE day-long celebration of fun and music for all the family at The White Lion, Bengeo, THIS SATURDAY (3rd). We are raising money to support the AT Society and celebrate Rose and her family, who live in locally. Rose is 10 years old and she lives with the impact of a degenerative disease called A-T (ataxia-telangiectasia.)
We have entertainment for children and families from 12 o’clock and live music throughout the afternoon and evening. Join us… IT’S FREE TO COME ALONG!

"There's a story to tell"... and you can be sure it includes love and loss, beer and whiskey and more then a smattering of personal warmth... Joining us at the White Lion this Saturday afternoon (3rd Sept) for Rosegarden 2022 and bringing with them a mix of Americana, country and folk music - originals and well-chosen covers - with an ear for a catchy chorus. A week to go until Rosegarden 2022 at the White Lion. We're delighted to announce that, in addition to our day of live music we have secured "Little Club" children's entertainers for our early afternoon fun in the garden.

Our day begins with outdoor games, stalls, face-painting and professional children's entertainment from 12 o'clock till after 2pm. Our bands start at 2.30, with the fantastic summer sounds of Trojan Horses. Come and join us. There's no entrance fee. All money raised from competitions and donations on the day will go to the AT Society, supporting children and families living with Ataxia-telangiectasia.

Just over a week before Rosegarden 2022 and we're delighted to announce our line-up of great local bands, who have all agreed to devote their time and talent to our cause. Come and join us...

We begin our music in the afternoon with Trojan Horses... probably South Bengeo's hippest and most happening ska/reggae/rocksteady collective (their words!). They'll be providing the perfect music for a late summer afternoon in the sun.

As we move through late afternoon and early evening, the sounds will shift to folk, rock, blues and Americana as we welcome two bands who are mainstays of the local music scene and firm favourites at the White Lion - The Badmen followed by the Wayward Sons. Each will provide a perfect mix of carefully chosen covers (think Johnny Cash and John Prine, Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens and many points in between) and witty, well-observed songs of their own.

We crank things up a little as we move into evening with Arch Rivals, who will pick up the pace with a rich mix of Rock / P***y / Funky covers (think The Strokes, Beatles, Stones, Stereophonics, Jet, Fratellis, Oasis etc., etc....)

Finally, we are delighted to confirm that closing our event will be local favourites Bengeo Blues Band - a four-piece rocking blues band who cover a range of artists from Muddy Waters to Fleetwood Mac; Buddy Guy to The Rolling Stones.

Before the music starts there will be activities and entertainment for children and families from 12 o'clock... but more of that later. ...

Things have seemed quiet for a while on the Rosegarden front, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been lots going on behind the scenes.

Rosegarden 2022 will now take place on Saturday 3rd September in the garden of The White Lion, Bengeo. We are very grateful for the support of Karen and Adam who have kindly agreed to host our mini-fest in their lovely pub garden.

The fun starts at 12 o'clock, with games and activities for children and families: face-painting, craft stalls, tombola, guess the name of the cuddly toy, etc... and maybe the odd children's entertainer... we'll give more details soon.

The live music starts at 2pm and continues well into the evening, with six fantastic local bands who have all given their time for free. The music ranges from Chart pop to Ska, Americana to Indie rock, Party Bangers to Rhythm and Blues. More on our line-up to
follow over the next few days.

We will have raffles and auctions and other fun and fundraising activities.

Throughout the day, the good people at the White Lion will be offering a Barbecue menu.
