Monthly montage //
October was another busy month, but we are now winding down our outdoor work for the year. At the start of the month we planted pak choi in the greenhouse. In the beds, the landcress planted last month is doing well. We also planted onions and garlic and in the greenhouse we are trying lovage for the first time.
We completed most of the ground grids by the end of September. It is too wet to finish them this year, but we will complete the project in the spring. The grass seed we planted in the grids has germinated and is growing well and has had its first cut.
Despite another wet month, we have done a lot of weeding: one benefit of the rain is that it is easy to remove long rooted weeds!
We harvested cauliflowers, cucumbers, cucamelons, beetroot, chard and lots of lettuce. The raised beds have been very successful for salad crops. We also removed the last of the potatoes, some of which will store until required.
On tomorrow! £3 for dinner (if you fancy it) and get that homework done and dusted!
