Over the past ten years we have worked with hundreds of different schools and colleges across the UK.
Green Up Your Act brings environmental issues to life through stimulating discussions, engaging presentations and creative workshops for both primary and secondary education. We are passionate about all things sustainable: recycling, up-cycling, global/local biodiversity, endangered species & their habitats and the growing of seasonal food.
Earthship buildings promote a more sustainable, low-impact lifestyle through energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and renewable energy use, all of which contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
So lovely to connect with so many amazing people of all ages and backgrounds through our engaging recycling workshops. The Woodford Repair Cafe is a community event in fixing various items, such as electronics, clothing, furniture, and bicycles, help people repair their broken belongings for free. The primary goals of repair cafΓ©s are to reduce waste, promote sustainability, share knowledge, and foster community engagement. πͺπ§β»οΈ
Year 7 students had a fantastic sessionβs with Philip discussing and learning about recycling and reusing everyday materials. They were intrigued with the items that Philip brought in and had many questions. Their favourite part of the session no doubt was making their pocket notebooks. They didn't quite realise what was being made until the last stage, at which point the collective gasps said it all.
An informative and engaging session with brilliant visuals and videos to support. We will definitely be looking to book sessions in the future as Philip offers a great range of topics which tie in to our Key Stage 3 & 4 curriculums brilliantly. β»οΈππ

Harvest rocket seed just before it goes nut brown and let it continue to dry indoors. Collect the seed heads in a paper bag. After a week or two, with a little shaking, the seeds will fall away. They need to be perfectly dry before storing in an airtight container. πͺ΄πΏπ

Online workshops - Thank you so much for the wonderful year 7 workshops yesterday. The pupils were in awe of the work that you do and engaged in some excellent conversations post workshop. I even had a pupil inform me this morning they had made 8 notebooks using recycled paper from around their house. We appreciate all the hard work that must have gone into this. It was a lovely conclusion to such an important Scheme of Work. β»οΈ β»οΈ β»οΈ β»οΈ
