📍 Magpas Air Ambulance HQ & Aviation Base 🚁
Dales supplied: Fascia Soffit

In September 2023, a purpose-built airbase, headquarters and training centre for the UK’s longest-serving air ambulance charity, Magpas Air Ambulance, opened. Magpas’ royal patron, HRH, The Princess Royal, officially opened the site.

Previously, Magpas had operated from two separate sites. The £5.5 million scheme has allowed Magpas to conjoin their operations, helping to save money, aid sustainability, and enable quicker dispatch times.

In October 2022, the project sub-contractor reached out to the team at Dales looking to procure our aluminium fascia soffit, to be PPC coated in the orange shade that is integral to Magpas’ branding. Unfortunately, we were unable to supply the original RAL shade requested but offered an alternative of RAL 2003 Pastel Orange. This striking and eye-catching orange finish ties in perfectly with Magpas’ identity and logo.

📍 Haberdashers’ Askes’ Boys’ School pre-prep building

Products supplied: Dales Aluminium Fascia Soffit and Rainwater pipe.

The architect for the project was IID Architects. The contractor was Volker Fitzpatrick Ltd and the Subcontractor was Stafford Rainwater Systems Ltd.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… (Dales in 1983) … 🌟

In the year that Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was the highest-grossing film, Estimator Mick Howard joined Dales as a Factory Labourer.

Today, Mick is celebrating his 40-year anniversary (to put that in perspective, that's just enough time to watch Star Wars: Return of the Jedi over 160,000 times).

Mick joined Dales in 1983 on a Youth Training Scheme, employed as a Factory Labourer. Throughout his time at Dales, Mick has fulfilled various roles within the business, but his unwavering dedication and diligence have remained consistent during his years of service.

Colin Dales, Commercial Director at Dales, said…..“From being on the shop floor with him all those years ago, Mick has always been a pleasure to work with. I would like to congratulate him on 40 amazing years of service. It’s truly an astounding achievement to stay with a business for 4 decades and is a testament to the hard work and commitment Mick has showcased throughout his career with us.”

We are delighted to join him in celebrating such a fantastic milestone! 👏

Festive FUNdraising 🎄❄️⛄️

On Sunday the, some of our team took part in the Derby Santa Run! 🎅🧑‍🎄

The 5k charity run raises money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People & Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity.

Santa suits are mandatory (beards and all) and we think the team has never looked better!

Well done to Nicola Chambers, Becky Cross, Tracy Fletcher, Andy Purdy, Paul Penrose, Rosie Mizuro-Coe, and her son for completing the run! Hopefully your (mistle)toes aren’t too sore… ❄️
