OPENING TOMORROW 4-6PM • Amelia Humber has been showing with Browns Gallery for more than 10 years, after joining us whilst she was living and working in the Cairngorms National Park. She has now relocated to London, but her work remains deeply inspired by the landscape of Scotland.
She escapes to Scotland whenever she can, venturing into the wilds of the Highlands to let the landscape consume her. Away from the pressures of everyday life, she is able to find a unique sense of peace, which she later translates into surfaces in her studio.
There is a quietness about each of her artworks. They offer space for calm contemplation. In some ways, they act as a reminder to breathe. Our hope is that you can join us in the Gallery, to view Amelia Humber’s work and find your own moment for quiet reflection.
We encourage you to join us from 4pm to 6pm tomorrow in Inverness, to celebrate the arrival of this serene body of works. If you can’t make it along, you can view the full collection of works on our website.

'Patterned Land' by Wendy Sutherland
One of the smaller works in Wendy Sutherland's upcoming show 'Patterned Land' is 'Fading Light, Skye' (Oil on Canvas, 26x40cm). Regardless of scale, this work is equally as captivating as the larger works that are on display. A glimmer of what lies on the horizon and the promise of an imminent light, the work is reminiscent of a place that we all know but can't quite reach.
What's unique about Wendy Sutherland is how she captures all aspects of the landscape within one picture, from the minutiae to the expansive she grants her audience a truly immersive experience. We think 'Ragged Robin' (Mixed Media on Canvas, 86x137cm) is a great example of this.
You can see 'Ragged Robin' at the opening of Wendy Sutherland's Solo Show 'Patterned Land' on Saturday (14th Sept) from 4pm to 6pm in our Inverness Gallery.
It's the week of Wendy Sutherland's opening for 'Patterned Land'. We can't wait to welcome you all in to see this tremendous body of work. We'll see you at 4pm on Saturday 14th September!

'Blue Morpho' is a particularly special piece, created in collaboration with Ed O'Brien of Radiohead and EOB.
