The Womens MOWI Shinty semi finals took place last Sunday (21st July).
The MOWI Challenge Cup Semi finals were due to take place in Ballachulish, however a road closure left the WCA committee with a headache. It was then decided to switch the 2nd Semi final between Badenoch 2nds and Strathglass to Spean Bridge.
The 1st semi final was Inverness V G.M.A - thanks to Ballachulish for getting the pitch ready after a wet final the previous day. With the changes made to the venues, Caitlin Mutch stepped in as referee at the very last minute and Julie Mutch took our team photos, we at the WCA are very greatful to you both. Congratulations to Inverness on reaching the final with a 9 - 0 victory.

The next semi final saw Badenoch 2nds secure their place in the final with a 4-0 win over Strathglass, we are indebted to Ally Ferguson and Lochaber Camanachd for the use of their facilities and to James Munro who made last minute plans to travel to Spean to referee, thanks also to Anthony MacMillan for taking the team photos.
Congratulations to both Inverness and Badenoch on reaching the MOWI Challenge Cup final.

Fortunately everything went to plan in Invergarry where the MOWI Valerie Fraser Cup semi finals took place, grateful thanks to Glengarry Shinty Club for providing a fantastic surface and facilities. Many thanks to Martin Bell for refereeing both games, to Charlene and Neil Paterson for their photography skills and to all teams in providing the bumper crowd with 2 quality games. Badenoch came out winners with a 4-3 win over rivals Skye to secure their place in the final and Lochaber edged out winners over Kinlochshiel in the 2nd game with a 2-1 win, to secure their Cup final place.
Congratulations to both Badenoch and Lochaber in reaching the finals of our MOWI Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup finals.

Many thanks to everyone for your cooperation, commitment and understanding in getting all 4 of our semi finals played.

Both Cup Finals will take place on Saturday 7th September at the Eilan, Newtonmore.
