A very grey and wet re-visit to a garden room extension which was completed last year. Lovely to see the personal touches the clients have done to the room to make it their own.

Fingers crossed for some sunnier days so that the room can be enjoyed with the doors open! 🌞

Cha Chaan Teng – ‘Tea restaurant’

I was involved in designing and fitting out a unit in the food hall, within Victorian Market Inverness.

The inspiration for the design is based on the traditional cafes commonly found in Hong Kong. These cafes always make me think of chinese egg tarts and pineapple buns, washed down with a red bean ice drink!

With this final unit in the hall now complete we wish the tenants the very best success for the future.

Happy 9th birthday to JHO - almost in double digits! 😄

It's hard to believe that it was 9 years ago when I had decided to start up my own practice. Without the clients, contractors and professional consultants I would not be where I am today and I am very grateful to everyone who have chosen to work with me over the last 9 years, thank you very much!

Phase 1 of the Dulnain Bridge housing development for 10 new homes is now finally complete! One of my biggest projects to date and I'm glad to be a part of it.

It's also good to hear that all the properties will be welcoming new tenants in very shortly.

I had the opportunity to visit a project I had dealt with back in 2019- a new 4 bedroom 'upside down' house in Inverness. With views towards the Black Isle and Ben Wyvis how can you not have your living space on the first floor!

The clients have done a fantastic job furnishing their family home to a very high standard and as always it's lovely to see the drawings brought to life 🏠

Been busy sorting out admin that I almost forgot that JHO turns 8 today!

In Chinese culture the number 8 is considered a lucky number and associated with wealth and success- hopefully it will be another successful year for JHO!

The festive break is almost upon us and it is probably the only appropriate time of the year that I can wear this jumper 😁

The office will be closed on Thursday 22nd December, re-opening on Monday 9th January 2023.

I was invited to pop in and visit one of the jobs I had dealt with last year. A small internal alterations and extension project to improve the flow of the ground floor layout and create an additional bedroom.

The client was delighted with how it turned out. When I ask clients if there’s anything they would do differently after it’s completed, they all seem to say the same thing… 'wish I had done it sooner!'

And just like that JHO is 7!

It's hard to believe that it was 7 whole years ago that I had decided to take the plunge and start this little practice of mine. I have met lots of lovely clients, contractors and consultants along this journey and hope to keep going forward into the future!!

Looks like the 'Coo' is finally out of the bag! 🌻🌻

I'm delighted that my design has been chosen for Highland Hospice's Great Heilan Coo Trail -

My coo, along with 21 other coos, will be located across the Highlands between April to August 2022 for public display before they head out to auction in the Autumn. The exact location of this Coo to be revealed in due course- it'll be somewhere in Inverness...

A little jaunt out of the office this morning to do a quick survey. Imagine waking up to this view every morning, and being able to see dolphins and otters in the Moray Firth from your garden!
