What is dermaplaning? It is a non-invasive procedure using a sterile scalpel which removes the top layer of your vellus hair (peach fuzz) and dead skin cells. By having a dermaplaning treatment you can expect to see and feel instant result!

Two days away from clinic to spend with my lovely youngest son Diaz.

We have had the best day visiting seeing all the animals and watching the cheeky monkeys jump on our car!

I’ve not seen him this excited, smiling and laughing in a long while.

As much as I love running my aesthetics clinic, family always come first. These are the moments which creates memories to last a lifetime.

LETS TALK ASPIRATION!

Here my clients know I always give a thorough consultation before you have any treatments so you can make an informed decision if this is the right treatment for you.

I tell you all about the benefits and most important, the risks, the main one “vascular occlusion”.

I cannot stress the importance of aesthetic practitioners “aspirating” the needle BEFORE they inject any filler. Aspirating is when I pull the syringe back once the needle is placed in the area where I want to inject. This could be for example the lips, check, chin, jaw, marionette or nasal labial folds.

If the tip of a needle has a positive “flash back” you are in a danger zone. The implications of filling this area with filler is you could cause a blockage to a main artery which can then lead to a vascular occlusion.

I had a positive flash back for the second time in my clinic at the weekend as you can see the tip of the needle has a little blood in there (I have injected 1000s of patients and clients)

Of course …. Safety first! No client was harmed BUT I am fed up of seeing TikTok videos of injectors not aspirating and putting clients at risk.

Fillers ARE SAFE when injected by a trained, experienced aesthetics practitioner but there is a lot of bad practice out there (trust me, I see a lot of clients for corrections!)

Choose your practitioner wisely and cheaper does not mean better!

Some clinicians may not wish to share the fact that they had a positive flash back but for me this shows you that I always practice safely and no filler was injected in my clients artery.

PLEASE think about where you are going to have your treatments. Correction work can be more expensive in the long run so make the right choice from the very start.

It’s been a funny few months. Many ups and downs trying to decide whats the right move for me career wise. Crippling anxiety, not knowing where I’m going or ignoring the signs telling me what I should do.

I trained as a nurse at the age of 30 so it was a mature decision I made and knew all I wanted to do was to care for others, always delivering compassionate and dignified care.

I never planned on doing aesthetics but life took me down this pathway and with my nursing experience there are so many transferable skills. I always strive to deliver the best care to my clients before and after treatment and there is absolutely no room for cutting corners! I am so passionate about aesthetics and practicing safely. I promise to always up-skill and keep up to date with new techniques! I now can’t think of a job I’d prefer to do more than aesthetics.

My heart has been telling me to step away from nursing and run my aesthetics clinic full time but I tried to ignore it because deep down “I am a Nurse”. Aesthetics has given me the opportunity to be the mum and wife I want to be, be my own boss, take time out for my family when they need me and make some space for myself for the fist time ever.

I was pregnant at 19 and gave birth to our first son at 20 so now I feel this is my time. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it. I miss my children being so young but so proud to watch them grow. I’m loving the new chapter I am now exploring and truly appreciate all your support.

I had the absolute pleasure of treating this beautiful client to her first ever lip filler augmentation. She started with flat, thin lips and by carefully discussing what she wanted to achieve we managed to give her a nice, natural enhancement.
