Are you struggling to decided how to train so you can stay injury free ?

"Choices, choices! 💪 Bodybuilding, strongman, powerlifting, CrossFit – we've got it all. 🏋️‍♂️ Then come the 'injury gurus' claiming one-size-fits-all with movement-centric training. Sure, it's crucial, but dissing other styles? Not my vibe. 🚫 Inactivity's the real enemy. Love your training style, just nail the form, prioritize recovery, and throw in some non-Sagittal plane moves. Stay active, stay smart!

What's your favorite training flavor? Drop it below! 👇

👤 another client moving better with no pain.

📸 On the left, we have the initial posture. the client came in with left shoulder pinching during overhead movements. Notice the right side of the neck pulled down with an slight rotation to the right and the right lower back also affected.

🔄 With treatment we've made incredible progress. Look at the picture on the right: the head is now in a more neutral position, and releasing the QL has decreased the side ways lean to the right. With both QL muscles released, the release rib cage can move freely, allowing the collar bone to move taking away the pinch in the shoulder when going over head.

If you are struggling with any shoulder issues DM shoulder.

Pain isn't always as straightforward as it seems. 🤕 When you're dealing with those persistent aches, it's time to look beyond the surface. 🚫 Stop attributing it solely to things like "inactive muscles" or "a vertebrae out of alignment."

The real 🔑 is understanding that pain can have roots in past traumas, whether it's an old injury or those daily habits we hardly notice. 🔄 It's about going beneath the surface and discovering what's been happening in your daily life that might be causing that vertebra to act up. 🤷‍♂️💭

So, don't just focus on symptoms, dig into the daily routines and past experiences to uncover the true cause of your discomfort. 💪

🦵👊 Just a little reminder that injuries can happen to anyone, anytime. I recently had a run-in with a kerb and my knee took the hit. 🤦‍♂️ But instead of dwelling on "why me?" I'm shifting my mindset to "what can I do now to improve?"

Injuries are opportunities to work on neglected areas of our body and mind. It's a chance to grow stronger and come back even better. Stay positive, keep pushing forward, and remember, setbacks are just setups for comebacks. 💪💯

As a sports massage specialist and rehabilitation coach, I'm all about understanding how our bodies work. 📚💡

🔵 **Transverse Plane** 🔵
The transverse plane is all about rotation. Think of it as a horizontal line dividing your body into upper and lower halves. It's essential for actions like twisting your torso, swiveling your hips, and even playing your favorite sports. 🏀⚽

🔴 **Sagittal Plane** 🔴
The sagittal plane is where most of our everyday movements occur. It divides your body into left and right halves and is responsible for forward and backward movements like walking, running, and bending. 🚶‍♂️🏃‍♀️

🟢 **Frontal Plane** 🟢
The frontal plane divides your body into front and back halves and governs side-to-side movements. Activities like lateral raises, sidestepping, and jumping jacks are thanks to this plane. 💪🤸‍♀️

Understanding these planes and how they work together is crucial for staying injury-free and improving performance. Whether you're an athlete or simply looking to move with more ease, it's all about balance and coordination. 🏋️‍♂️🧘‍♀️

Are you curious about how these movement planes impact your body's health and mobility?

"🔧🏥 When it comes to pain relief and recovery, remember: There's no one-size-fits-all solution! 💡

In the world of chiropractic, osteopathy, physiotherapy, and sports massage, different techniques are like tools in our toolbox, each with its unique benefits. ✅ The key is finding the right combination that works for YOU, tailored to your specific needs. It's all about individualized care and understanding that what works for one person may not be the best fit for another.

📚 Science backs the effectiveness of these methods, but it's our job to explain them in plain, understandable terms. So, ask questions, be informed, and work together with your practitioner to create a plan that suits YOUR unique journey to a pain-free and active life. 💪🤝

🔍 : What really happens when we hear a crack during a manipulation/adjustment, and is it good for us? 🤓💡

👉 Myth: The crack makes my joints move back into position.

💡 Fact: It's about releasing gas bubbles! When you crack a joint, you're actually causing a release of gas (mostly nitrogen) that's built up in the synovial fluid surrounding the joint. This creates that satisfying "pop" sound. 💥🧠

But here's the important part: Excessive and forceful manipulations can result in joint instability, especially in the cervical spine 🙅‍♂️🚫

So, while a little occasional joint cracking may be satisfying, it's crucial to do it mindfully and not make it a habit. And if you have persistent joint discomfort, consult a professional rather than relying on forceful manipulations for relief. 🩺👩‍⚕️

Ever wondered why a 1-hour massage session is often recommended over a 30-minute one?

Let's dive into the benefits!

1️⃣ Extended Communication: With a full hour, you have more time to communicate with your therapist. This allows you to discuss specific concerns, preferences, and any issues you've been experiencing. It's all about tailoring the experience to YOU! 🗣️

2️⃣ Thorough Assessment: A longer session means more time for your therapist to assess your body's needs. They can pinpoint areas of tension, discomfort, or muscle tightness and tailor the massage accordingly. 🕵️‍♂️

3️⃣ No Rushing : In a 1-hour session, there's no need to rush through the massage. Your therapist can work methodically, ensuring each your injury gets the attention it deserves.

So next time you book a massage, consider going for that full hour. It's more time for the therapist to work and resolve the problem.

Have you ever wondered how your muscles move so seamlessly?

It's all thanks to a fascinating concept called **Intramuscular Glide** and the incredible role played by **Fascia**! 🏃‍♂️💃

🧵 **What is Intramuscular Glide?** 🧵
Imagine your muscles are like well-oiled gears, smoothly turning and sliding against each other. That's intramuscular glide in action! It's the ability of muscles to move effortlessly over each other, promoting flexibility and pain-free motion.

🕸️ **The Fascia Connection** 🕸️
Fascia is like the body's natural 'cling wrap.' It envelops and connects our muscles, allowing them to glide smoothly. Think of fascia as the secret behind muscle coordination and freedom of movement.

✨ **Why It Matters** ✨
Understanding intramuscular glide and the role of fascia can help you:
🔹 Improve flexibility
🔹 Reduce muscle tension
🔹 Prevent injuries
🔹 Enhance overall performance

Ever wondered why injuries occur?

It all comes down to the concept of "Load Capacity." 🧐

🔵 Your body, much like a bridge or any structure, has a load capacity - the maximum amount of stress or load it can handle without breaking down. This load isn't just about lifting weights; it includes everyday activities, like walking or sitting.

💪 Muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones all have their own load capacities. They adapt and get stronger with gradual challenges. But, here's the catch - push them beyond their limit, and that's when injuries happen. 🚑

👉 For example, sudden overexertion in the gym or poor posture over time can exceed your body's load capacity, leading to strains, sprains, or worse.

✅ So, what can you do?

1️⃣ Gradually increase intensity and load in your workouts.
2️⃣ Maintain good form and posture in daily activities.
3️⃣ Listen to your body - pain is often a warning sign.

Understanding your body's load capacity is key to preventing injuries and staying in top form! 💪

"Muscles First, Joints Second: The Smart Approach to Well-being! 💪🤝

When it comes to addressing pain or discomfort in your body, here's a crucial piece of advice: Prioritise muscle release before considering joint manipulation.

Why? Your muscles play a significant role in joint stability and function. Tight or tense muscles can lead to joint stress and misalignment. By releasing muscle tension through techniques like massage, strength training, stretching, or myofascial release, you're creating a more stable foundation for your joints.

So, before seeking joint manipulation, give your muscles some attention. It's a smarter and safer way to promote overall well-being and long-term joint health!.

Let’s talk about pain. 💥

Pain is a powerful survival mechanism that keeps us safe. It's a way of the body saying, 'Hey, pay attention and take action!'

our bodies have an intricate network of pain sensors. These are, called nociceptors, and play a crucial role in alerting us to potential harm. When they detect something amiss - like a hot stove or a stubbed toe- they send lightning-fast signals to our brain, shouting, 'Pain Alert!' The brain will send a signal back, to initiate the appropriate action.

So, next time you feel pain, ask yourself;

-why is my body experiencing this ?

-what have i done that may of caused this response ?

🏋️‍♀️💬 "Soft Tissue Massage: Does it hurt or stop pain? 🤔💪

You've probably wondered about soft tissue massage and debated whether it is painful. Let consider the facts! 🤷‍♂️👇

Soft tissue massage targets specific muscle groups, aiming to release tension and improve recovery. 💆‍♂️💥 While they can be intense, they shouldn't be excessively painful or cause bruising. Think of it as a 'good' kind of discomfort! 😅👍

During a soft tissue massage, your therapist will work with you to find the right pressure, where you can keep the muscles relaxed. It's crucial to communicate your comfort level. 💬👏

Ultimately, soft tissue massage is designed to accelerate recovery, reduce pain, and increase range of movement. Not have you, leaving hating the session and not wanting to return.

Remember, the pain should always be within your comfort zone where you can keep muscles relaxed.
