It can be SO difficult - but it is SO important.
What I've noticed becoming a Mom and starting my wellbeing practices is that - people very rarely mind what you actually do and people definitely prefer when you're being your authentic self!
Becoming a Mom I couldn't/didn't want to do the things I used to do! I wanted to work differently, go out less, spend less money on silly things. I didn't feel the need to do so much of what I used to do. And with my meditation practices I also discovered that the real me - my core self is actually introverted, doesn't like busy spaces and longs to be in nature. I love reading and deep conversations and I love cuddling with my children and nights on the sofa with my husband!
When we are bombarded with images of the "perfect" bodies, lives, jobs, relationships etc. it can trigger us and make us feel as though thats how we should be living, looking, working etc. And sometimes we actually lose ourselves trying to fit in!
That's normal - we want to fit in. Fitting in can mean safety!
But there's more to life than fitting in. And we can find that grounding and safety in other places!
We can:
- Meditate
- Spend time with likeminded people
- Prioritise genuine connections - with people who will champion you!
- Schedule time for the things we love
- Re-start hobbies/pass-times we've somehow lost!
Find yourself, find your tribe and create that space and time to rediscover yourself - your authentic self!
And if you're struggling to get back to that authentic, core self I really recommend regular meditation practices. You'd be amazed at what comes up once we pause and just allow ourselves to be and stop doing!

Exactly what it says on the tin we will be taking an hour and a half to simply relax!
We will start with a relaxing craft, a warm drink and a snack to help us to start to unwind, followed by relaxing breathwork and meditations to help us to let go of all of the stress we have been accumulating over the year!
The festive period is of course a time where we practice generosity and gratitude but it can also be a wonderful time to turn our attention inward and give ourselves some of that same generosity and compassion that we give to others.
We deserve this!

How often are you focusing your attention on the future?
The thing is - we cannot predict the future.
It can be easy to stay focused on the future and chasing our dreams - but please don't get lost doing this.
Find yourself in this present moment and realise what you have!
Start working towards your dreams from a place of gratitude and contentment
I've started my session planning for the next term of Breathe & Be!
Part of this process for me is reflecting on previous feedback from during sessions as well as after the term has finished.
I just wanted to show some feedback with you all as I know these sorts of sessions can seem a bit daunting or you may well feel like you're unsure what you'd get out of it.
In my experience these sessions are brilliant for introducing principles of mindfulness, support you to practice meditations, and supporting you to learn and practice simple breath techniques to support you to regulate and relax.
If you'd like to:
- Take time for yourself
- Learn about mindfulness / meditation / breath
- Spend time in a supportive, warm group
- Snuggle up in a cosy room once a week and have time for yourself
- Improve your wellbeing
This may well be the group for you!
Breathe & be is a 6 week term - this is because the consistency of the group and the consistency of the practice are key.
I do offer other sessions which are pay as you go which are held in Cubbington twice a month on Sunday mornings at Little Light Studio.

I want to tell you all about the sessions that I run in Kenilworth & Cubbington - especially as I have a couple of spaces left for my next term starting this Thursday evening!

These sessions are an hour long and within them we practice mindfulness (being present), meditation and calming breathwork.
These sessions and practices support people to :

- Incorporate meditation and breathwork into their every day

- Generally be more present

I am a qualified mindfulness teacher & breath coach and I use my 10+ years experience in mental health and my MSc in Psychology to support you all.
The groups are friendly, small and all include cosy blankets and candlelight as standard to help you to feel welcome, safe and to help you to unwind.
Whether you're new to all of this or you want to create a more regular practice you will be welcomed with open arms!

Since I have started regular mindfulness practices I have seen a huge shift in how I experience anxiety!
Yes I still have struggles - however I am able to identify, observe and let go SO much easier now!
And this is what will naturally come with regular practices as they quite literally support with re-wiring your brain!
Whilst in mindfulness we don't try to achieve anything - you'd be amazed at what regular practice can bring to your life!

So I've pulled out a few things that I've heard recently about Mindfulness practices and wanted to debunk them a little bit!
I know it can feel like we see mindfulness as somebody very serenely meditating, sat with a perfect posture and looking incredibly calm.
But it's not ! It can be! And it can be other things to!
We can bring mindfulness practices into all areas of our lives - drives to work, walking, getting ready for bed.
And it can absolutely be a spiritual experience for you! Or not!

REGULATION!
How many of us truly understand the best ways to regulate our nervous system - or what this even means?
It is incredibly important for us to be able to center ourselves - at work, at home, out and about.
In life so many things can trigger us to feel stressed, anxious, heightened.
In life so many things can trigger us to feel low, withdrawn and depressed.
In life there are so many tools, practices and habits that we can learn and bring into our daily lives that will help us to regulate.
If you feel stuck or like you're spending too much time in those heightened or low states it could be that you need some support.
This support could come in the form of exercise, meditation, breathwork, therapy or even lifestyle and routine changes.

And you are more than what you produce!
I think it is such a shame that we are taught that our worth is defined by our achievements, what we create or tick off our to do lists!
Don't forget the importance of reflecting on who you are, how you feel and allow yourself that time to just be in the moment!
I'd even go as far as to say get some time booked in each day this week and allow yourself to just be - don't do something "productive" - just actually be you and know that this is beautiful.

There are many benefits of meditation - but these cam to my mind straight away.
I think that for me as somebody who can struggle with anxiety the biggest changes have been around how I approach my worries and how I regulate myself - I'm of course a work in progress and still have struggles but through these practices I really think I'm finding my way!

Why I love what I do ๐
There are so many reasons I love being a Meditation & Mindfulness guide ๐๐ป
Itโs honestly a joy to welcome you into the gorgeous spaces I work in ๐
For me these are the best bits of my job:
- supporting people to feel calm, regulated and relaxed
- listening to peopleโs stories and experiences and facilitating open sharing and connection
- the energy in the room during sessions is just gorgeous
- candle light, cosy blankets and relaxing music
- I love learning about well-being and sharing with others
- I love writing my own meditations
As you can see โฆ there is a lot to love about what I do ! I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to run these sessions and I am eternally grateful to those of you who join me ๐๐ป๐ซ

Always looking for signs that Iโm in the right place ๐ชฝ
I feel like Iโm having a bit of a wild time at the moment and definitely on an intense journey of self discovery!
I am a huge advocate for living in alignment and Iโm recognising some symptoms of not feeling aligned at the moment:
- feeling unsure in my gut
- not eating healthily consistently
- not nourishing myself or taking regular exercise
On reflection I think that:
Iโm not spending enough time in nature
Iโm not allowing enough rest
My work is a work in progress and I need to practice more patience and trust
I am noticing that as Iโm making decisions that I am aligned with things just โfeel rightโ, I feel calm, confident and often find little signs from the universe too ๐ซ๐ชฝ
I will be making time today to meditate, journal and think about planning my weekend in a really intentional and aligned way - including lots of nature, meditation, connection and learning ๐๐ป
If youโre not living in a way aligned with your truth and your values you may find yourself not feeling quite right and also not making the best choices for yourself. This is very normal - and when we are going through periods of change as I am now itโs expected and part of the process.
Mindfulness supports us to turn our attention inward and reflect. Through these practices Iโm able to become more aware of myself in body mind and spirit.
At this point in my life these practices are more important than ever as I need to be sure I am making decisions that are aligned with me, my values and my truest self ๐๐ป
