🔵Match Report U13s - 19/09/24🔵

Under 13s were on the evening kick off on thursday. Coaches Josh & Jack had the following comments.

"A solid result today picking up the first points of the season. First half we started to find a rhythm playing the ball through midfield into Finely however we couldn’t quite capitalize when through on goal. With 10 mins to go to half time one long ball over the top from orchard park see them going 1-0 up taking the lead into half time. Straight from kick off see orchard park double their lead. However the team’s head did not drop and some high pressing see some more chances come our way which unfortunately did not stick away. Even though the chances were missed the team kept plugging away and after some good play by Gerald he won a free kick in a good area which allowed Tyler to strike at goal superbly and half the deficit. With the wind in our sails the team continued to press and after Gerald rode 2 challenges he burst away from the defenders and finish bringing the game to 2-2. With the light fading away rapidly vision for both sets of players became increasingly difficult. Game finished 2-2."

🔵Match Report U16s 15.09.24🔵

Our under 16s made the short journey up the hill to Rothwell on Sunday afternoon. Coaches Gaz & Clayton had the following to say about the local derby:

"We were away at FC Aztec this afternoon and the game started tight with aztec pressing early. We managed to find a break through and Billy won a penalty after being taken down, and took his chance. As the 1st half progressed, we started to dominate, and Harris tapped in a 2nd. Just before half time, Dan also managed to score a corner making it three to Desborough at half time. 2nd half was a lot more hunger from Desborough, but the one time we didn't close them down Aztec scored from just outside the area. We soon responded with another goal through Billy after a lovely through ball. Finally the game was finished off after a free kick to us, a little lay off from Dan to Billy, seen him dummy a defender and then bend our 5th top right corner. Final score 5-1."

🔵Match Report U13s 15.09.24🔵

Our Under 13s took part in the 1st round of county Cup. Coaches Josh, Jack, & Trev had the following views:

"A game of 2 halves, going into 4 - 0 down at half time was not the start we was looking for. However a strong 2nd half performance with great battling all over the pitch with intent and purpose when pressing made it difficult for the irchester to get into our half.
Both goals came from wining ball the high up playing through for our forwards to run onto and finish calmly. We go again Thursday, orchard park away in the league."

"Good match today against R&D the team did great just came up against a good team, and there was some great passing but the was some passes that just went to there players plus there was some great timed tactics, we had some good chances to get a goal and I did play some players in different areas but as a hole team myself & Kieron was happy in the way we played today and some great saves for Effie."

🔵Match Report U9 Gladiators 14/09/24🔵

U9's Gladiators took to north park on Saturday. Carlos & Kieron had the following views:

"Yesterday match was some high & low moments as in it was good that the team didn't give up and kept fighting to get a goal, the low was having 3 players taken out and injured in the game but getting back to the good bits the team did good all over the pitch and kept there cool in the match and played great I think at time we put some great balls through the defence for players to run on to and the defence was great in just getting rid of the ball up the field.
Well done team!"

It was their first league match as a team and it was great to see the team pushing to get a goal and we had some great attempts. NEW RULE ALERT !!!!!

Sin Bin has changed !! Please all be aware and inform anyone within your circle that the sin bin rule has changed this season

Sin bin is used for dissent - A player commits a dissent breach the referee shows them a yellow card and points to the touchline this now counts as a NORMAL Yellow Card

If that player commits another yellow card offence ie. delay of game / a tackle deemed a yellow card offence or commits another dissent violation this will see another yellow card and then a RED

Last season a player could commit 1 dissent Sin bin violation and then another normal yellow card offence and stay on the field essentially meaning 1 player could receive 3 yellows before a RED

Now A yellow card for dissent and sin bin is classed a a YELLOW card proper 2 will see second yellow and RED !
