UK-based truck-mounted access platform company Smart Platform Rental has added the first CPL E-Tech KL26 and KL21B van-mounted platforms in the UK to its fleet.

The E-Tech KL26 is a fully electric van-mounted platform. With a range of 110 miles*, the KL26 is a ULEZ-compliant eco-friendly platform mounted on a 3.5-tonne Renault Master van. The KL26 has a working height of 11.8 metres and a maximum outreach of 6.5 metres. It has no outriggers and can elevate one operative.

Smart Platform Rental has also added to its fleet of diesel van-mounted platforms with six new CPL KL21B’s. The KL21B is mounted on a 3-tonne Renault Trafic van. The KL21B has no outriggers, which both decreases its footprint, making it more effective in narrow spaces, and decreases its weight, giving it a greater payload for tools and equipment. The KL21B has a maximum working height of 11.2 metres, with 6 metres of outreach.

Despite being a cherry picker manufacturer, we also offer used cherry pickers. We realise that it can be complicated for you to get a budget to purchase lifting equipment at the price of a new one. We therefore have taken stock of used access equipment to enable you to work at heights at some of the lowest purchase prices on the market.

Each cherry picker has to be supplied along with the following documentation:

✅ Operator’s manual/operating instructions;

✅ CE declaration of conformity (in Europe);

✅ Manufacturer Test Report, produced when the machine is manufactured;

✅ documentation/records of : Modifications, including necessary evidence of conformity to relevant design standards; retrofits; and manufacturer’s technical/safety bulletins.

Maintenance records should also be supplied, and should include:

✅ Maintenance history and related records;

✅ evidence of periodic inspections (usually six-monthly or annual) records;

✅ major inspection records.

CPL recently carried out a demonstration of the Dino 220XTC ll in Scotland. The end user was looking for a solution to enable the safe and efficient maintenance of their green spaces. They had previously hired various access solutions from local rental companies, but due to the regular usage, they felt it was time to procure an asset for their fleet.

After some time investigating solutions, they sent a web enquiry to CPL asking for some information on the 22m Dino Spider. This solution caught the eye of the Tree Officer due to several factors. These included;

✅The outriggers are attached to the legs. This prevents any operator failure to place them, and it saves time when setting up the machine.

✅The platform works within the envelope of the outriggers. This prevents collisions with traffic and ensures the safest possible option for the operator, road users and any pedestrians.

✅The boom has a 360 degree rotation allowing the operator to be more efficient when working at height.

✅The team were very impressed with the working height and outreach capabilities with 2 men in the basket.

Asha and Anji Silva are members of Team BRIT – a motor racing team made up of six drivers with various physical and psychological disabilities include amputees, people with partial paralysis, and conditions like autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

They visited Skylark Ward on April 18 with a special motor race simulator with adapted controls like the ones the team use in actual races like the Citroen C1 Series and Britcar Trophy.
