How to Lose fat WITHOUT always feeling hungry 🤯
So you are on another diet, it’s going well for the first few days, you’re a bit hungry but it’s all good, you can cope…
…then comes the hunger, and the cravings and before you know it the cupboard has been raided and you’ve blown it
You feel like sh*t, you’ve let yourself down, and then comes Monday and it’s time to start the cycle again
…. sound familiar?
Maybe just maybe there is a better way?
A better way to structure your diet, a better way to “think” about your nutrition, and a better way to get those results WITHOUT the feeling of failure
Do you really want to munch on carrots to stave off the hunger?
Do you really want to cut out all the fun stuff?

(Now one small caveat here, if you are eating fewer calories than your body needs, you will have times of hunger, that’s normal while your body adjusts)
So, what’s the answer?
Step one: Setting a realistic expectation
We all want to drop fat fast, but this takes huge commitment, sacrifice, and a rock-solid mindset most of us don’t have (even us)
We go slow, accept it’ll take some time and we plan ahead
It may mean it takes longer to reach your goal, however, the journey will be far more enjoyable, and as a bonus, you’ll keep the fat off way easier than if you drop it fast…
Next time you book that holiday, start getting in shape sooner
Step Two: Don’t bin all the stuff you love, instead we factor these things into our plan
If you want some wine, have some wine, but ensure it’s counted in your daily calories
Chocolate? No probs TRACK IT and adjust your day
Factoring the things, we love into our plan means we don’t have the feeling of missing out, the cravings and the horrible “I can’t have that I’m on a diet” mindset, which is a one-way ticket to self-destruction…
Some of our clients do this daily, or for some, we use a quick and easy method of calorie banking (simply put, saving some of your calories each day for a few good things at the weekend or for an event you have coming up)
Either way, tracking your intake will be the most effective way of staying on plan and getting great results WITHOUT being too hungry
Step 3: TOP TIPS to stave off the hunger
Water: if you are drinking plenty of water, the hunger will stay away
Coffee: caffeine is a great way to curb your appetite in tough times
Low-calorie alternatives: fizzy water, diet drinks, sugar-free jelly, and snacking on fruit and veg can save you lots of calories and fill a hole when needed without putting a huge dent in your day’s intake
Protein: getting enough protein will help keep that hunger at bay as well as building those guns
Pack the plate with vegetables: A simple way to fill you up especially if you are used to larger meals is to just replace some of the higher calorie options on your plate with more veg LOTS MORE…

Why We Lose Muscle Mass During Menopause And What to Do 🧐💪
Let's look at a fascinating aspect of menopause that doesn't always get the spotlight it deserves: the gradual loss of muscle mass. 🏋️♀️📉
Why does this happen?
We know menopause is a natural and complex phase in a woman's life, and several factors contribute to the decrease in muscle mass:
✅ Hormonal Changes: One of the primary reasons is the drop in oestrogen levels. Oestrogen plays a crucial role in maintaining muscle mass. As it declines during menopause, it can lead to a decrease in muscle tissue.
✅ Reduced Physical Activity: Menopause can come with symptoms like hot flashes, fatigue, and mood swings. These factors can sometimes lead to reduced physical activity levels, which, in turn, can result in muscle loss.
✅ Aging Process: Aging itself brings changes in our bodies, including a natural decline in muscle mass. Menopause can accelerate this process.
✅ Nutritional Factors: Diet can also play a role. If your nutrition isn't optimal, it can make it harder for your body to maintain muscle mass.
But there are steps you can take to mitigate muscle loss during menopause:
✅ Strength Training: Incorporate resistance exercises into your routine to help build and maintain muscle mass. It's never too late to start!
✅ Balanced Diet: Ensure you're getting enough protein and essential nutrients to support muscle health. As a menopausal woman it’s important to focus on your protein intake.
✅ Stay Active: Even if you're dealing with menopause symptoms, find ways to stay physically active, whether it's yoga, walking, or other low-impact activities.
Remember, menopause is a different journey for every woman, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach.
But by staying informed and taking proactive steps, you can help maintain your strength and vitality as you navigate this phase of life. 🌟💃

Motivation and Training 💪🏋️♀️
Not sure why, but all week I have really struggled to get my butt into the gym and train, I really struggled to find the motivation, something we all experience at some point on our fitness journey: 🙄
We often hear that motivation is the key to achieving our fitness goals, and yes we need to have motivation but here's the reality check: Motivation alone isn't going to be enough!
Motivation can be as unpredictable as the weather. One day, you're fired up and ready to conquer the world, and the next, you're feeling sluggish and unmotivated. This has been me this week and if I was relying solely on motivation I would have skipped workouts.
Life happens. Stress, work, family commitments and unexpected events can all sap your energy and your motivation. Relying solely on motivation means you're at the mercy of these external factors and more likely to give in and give up.
To avoid letting motivation or a lack of it interfere with your schedule and training it’s important to develop consistency and discipline.
Achieving your goals requires consistent effort over time. Waiting for motivation to strike can lead to inconsistency, and that can sabotage your progress. Over time, this consistency will become a habit, and it'll be easier to stay on track.
Discipline is the unwavering commitment to your goals, even when motivation is nowhere to be found. It means showing up, putting in the work, and making progress regardless of how you feel. It’s discipline and the fact that I’m consistent with my training that pushed me this week to get through every workout, and having a workout routine that I stick to, regardless of whether I feel motivated or not.
Another wee tip is to remember your ‘why’. Revisit your goals regularly and remind yourself why you started this journey in the first place. This intrinsic motivation can be more powerful than any external source.
Have some kind of accountability. Partner up with a friend, hire a trainer or use your group training buddies. Knowing that someone is counting on you can provide an extra push when motivation wanes.
In the end, while motivation is fantastic when it's there, don't rely on it as your sole driving force. Build discipline, create a routine, and stay committed to your goals no matter what. That's how you'll achieve the lasting results you're striving for! 💪💯

Nutrition can be a great aid in managing annoying menopause symptoms?
Let’s look at some tips and some of the best foods to include in your diet to support your journey through this transition. 🌟
1. Plant Power: Incorporate a rainbow of fruits and vegetables into your meals. They're packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to help ease mood swings and keep your skin glowing. 🍏🫑🥦
2. Calcium: Menopause can lead to bone density loss, so make sure you're getting enough calcium. Include dairy products, fortified non-dairy alternatives, and leafy greens in your diet.🥛🧀
3. Omega-3 Rich Foods: Fatty fish like salmon and mackerel, flaxseeds, and walnuts are your friends. They can help reduce inflammation, support heart health, and improve mood. 🐟
4. Fibre Up: High-fibre foods like whole grains, beans, and legumes can help with digestion and manage weight, which can be a concern during menopause. 🥦🥕

Let's talk about my all-time favourite lift – The Deadlift! 🏋️♂️💥
Why do I love it?
Deadlifting isn't just about lifting heavy weights; it's a true test of both physical and mental strength. Here's why I believe you can't cheat your way through this amazing lift:
1️⃣ Raw Power: Deadlifting demands raw, brute strength. It engages major muscle groups like the glutes, hamstrings, lower back, and traps, making it a full-body workout. No shortcuts here; you've got to put in the work!
2️⃣ Proper Form is Key: Poor technique is simply not an option when deadlifting (leave your ego at the door). You risk injury and won't reap the full benefits. Maintaining a neutral spine, hinging at the hips, and lifting with proper technique is essential. It's a skill as much as it is strength.
3️⃣ Mental Toughness: Deadlifting is a true mental challenge. When you approach that bar, you need to silence doubt and summon unwavering focus. It's you versus the bar, and mental resilience is your greatest ally.
4️⃣ Progressive Overload: The beauty of deadlifting is in its potential for progression. As you get stronger, you add more weight to the bar. This continuous challenge is what keeps us coming back for more.
5️⃣ Functional Strength: Deadlifting translates to real-life strength. From picking up heavy objects to improved posture, the benefits extend beyond the gym.
So, why is deadlifting so awesome? Because it's a true measure of your strength and determination. It's about setting goals, pushing your limits, and celebrating every PR. 🎉
Remember, there's no cheating that bar, it knows when you've put in the work or not, and technique is key. Keep working, stay focused, and embrace the challenge. 💥

A wee taste of China this weekend with a tasty Sweet And Sour Chicken
This was tough today, but worth the effort. 💦😅
Getting out your comfort zone is never easy, and takes discipline, but it’s always worth it.
It kinda made me think about menopause and how tough the struggles can be. But how moving out their comfort zone to make some positive changes can be a real challenge for some ladies
It's surprising how many ladies hesitate to take that leap, to embrace the discomfort, and make the necessary changes to look and feel amazing.
You know there are two kinds of discomfort.
There's the one that pins you down, keeps you stuck, and leaves you feeling trapped.
And then, there's the kind that propels you forward, ignites your motivation, and powers your journey to conquer those goals.
So why not have an honest moment:
Where are you right now?
Are you nestled in that cosy, stagnant place, where the discomfort you feel is making you miserable and yet it's become a reason for inaction?
Or are you boldly pushing yourself beyond those boundaries, and getting comfortable being uncomfortable?
I know – changing your lifestyle isn't always easy.
There might be sacrifices – emotionally, physically, even financially.
But let me assure you, the struggle and investment is so worth it.
