π Absolutely loving this path!
Loved this..A concrete path in the botanical garden, Singapore, presumably they laid the concrete and embedded the leaves and then gently peeled them off, very simple and hugely effective...We have something similar in our garage, next doors cat nipped in after we laid the concrete....π€£
Love this! π
Happy Sunday everyone π

During this spectacular display you will be witnessing all sunrises and sunsets across the globe all at the same time, projected on the moon - how bonkers is that!

As spring progresses, more oppertunities to connect with nature are presenting themselves.
Last weekend I spotted a gorgeous lilac tree in bloom just around the corner from our house - which only lasts a few weeks - so today I headed out for a bit of local foraging. As I collected a few flower heads, the sweet, honey-rich scent was intoxicating and incredibly calming.
Back home, I separated the flowers from stem and whipped up a lilac cordial and cannot wait to try it when it is ready in a weeks time!

Did you know...
πΈLilac is part of the olive family and the flowers have a number of health benefits.
πΈThe scent is known to calm and relax the mind, helping to relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression.
πΈThe carotenoids within the flower are good for our eyes.
πΈWhen flowers are eaten or drunk through infusion in water/tea/syrups, they aid in digestion.
πΈ Flower infusions also have astringent properties, so can be used to make skin toners, help with rashes, sunburn and minor cuts and grazes.
Sorry for the radio silence folks, inbetween starting a new job then being struck down with covid, it's been an exciting but exhausting (thanks covid) month.
I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Bank Holiday Weekend. Whether you are out relaxing in the sunshine, playing in the parks or foraging in the woods - Get outside and live wild!
Happy Friday lovely people

Today is International Day of the Forest π³
Did you know, across the world, forests directly provide food, shelter, energy, income, and medicines for more than 1.6 billion people or about 1/5th of the global population? Forests are also home to over 6,000 species of trees and the majority of our planet's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests are also the second-largest storehouse of carbon.
Aren't forests incredible?!
Do you want to help plant trees?

Today (at around 15.30 to be precise) falls the Spring Equinox, the days will begin to get longer and the nights shorter as the Earth wakes up from its winter hibernation - Hello Spring!
The sun has been shining βοΈwarm and bright today, have you taken a moment to make the most of it?
Why not wind down for the weekend ahead by taking some time to breathe in deep as the afternoon turns to dusk and soak up some of the days rays before they sink below the horizon π
It's been a while since I went for barefoot walk in nature - it felt so good!
The coolness of the ground beneath your feet, the sound of bird song all around and the sight of spring emerging from its winter slumber - it amazes me everytime how something so simple can be so calming and invigorating at the same time, awakening the soul.
Have you been brave enough to bare your soles yet?

Today, March 1, marks the beginning of spring - well, Meteorological spring at least.
Many people consider the βofficialβ start of spring to be the March equinox, which falls on Sunday, March 20.
But with so many snowdrops, crocus and daffodils emerging, the trees are in bud and some starting to bloom... We want to celebrate all this new life emerging from its long winters sleep.
If you have been out and about, spotting signs of spring, please share your photos below πΈ

To mindfully connect with nature, allow curiosity and instinct be your guide.
By freeing your mind of the clutter and chaos of day to day life, you bring your focus to the present. To what is in front of you in that very moment. Allow yourself to be led by your senses, don't be afraid to be tactile - touch, smell, taste (where safe) and take time to notice and consider the sights and sounds around you.

Storm Eunice certainly shook the country. Did you get snow today?
I love the way snow makes the landscape look so clean and pure. A clean slate, ready for endless possibilities. βοΈ
βSnow isnβt just pretty. It also cleanses our world and our senses, not just of the soot and grime of a mining town, but also of a kind of weary familiarity, a taken-for-granted quality to which our eyes are all too susceptible.β

I love learning new things and I'd never before heard about the Celtic Tree Calendar; I'm not really well versed or practised in the true spiritual elements relating to nature - more so the wellbeing side of things - but I do find it a fascinating read.

Did you know childhood mental health problems are on the rise? Anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks.. These are big emotions for such small people to deal with.
It's hard enough for us adults to manage!
Here is a fabulous breathing exercise to try anytime of the year. Use it to help regulate your breathing, re-focus the mind to a single task and become more present. This will help reduce feelings of stress and tension, helping you to relax and calm the mind from the chaos. π
πImbolc or Imbolg, also called Saint Brigid's Day, is a Gaelic traditional festival. It marks the beginning of spring, and for Christians it is the feast day of Saint Brigid, Ireland's matron saint. It is held between the 1st and 2nd February, which is about halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinoxπ
Itβs a windy one out there today blustery, cold air whipping the world up into a frenzy. It's easy (and natural) to want to wait out this weather, tucked away safe indoors, waiting for it to blow over.
In all honesty, I didn't want to head out today - but I'm glad I did. I sat for an hour, the wind whistling and blowing fast through the trees, the rushing clouds casting sun and shadow in turn across the ground, all while the leaves danced over the grass. πππ
Just as we intuitively de-clutter our homes in late winter/early spring, the earth does the same. The wind is getting rid of the weight of winter to make space for new shoots and fresh leaves. New life is on its way π±
Taking a moment on my commute to work to appreciate the beauty in the sunrise.
I have a very busy day ahead, potentially full of stress, so I truely needed this time to just breathe and simply be in the moment. All it took was a few minutes to realign my focus.
No matter the anticipation you may feel of what lies ahead in the day, know that each new sunrise brings new opportunity to face it in a different way. A different perspective, a different attitude, a different purpose.
And remember... Just breathe.
The first time I took a barefoot walk in the woods in early spring... π
