Mental Health is important & an investment in ourselves to maintain a healthy mind.

☀️ Hello on this finally sunny warm Saturday. ☀️

🌻 I can’t believe it’s been a month since I last posted on here. Life can be so busy can’t it? 🌻

🌻With my life being busy it got me thinking about self care.

🌻My idea of self care is doing Zumba and Yoga and also walking.
I love a good skincare routine and that makes feel good. It’s about me taking time out of my busy day to look after my health and wellbeing.
It’s not selfish it’s important.

🌻Connecting with others also is an important thing to me.

🌻 As I started practicing counselling I used to worry about asking people for the hourly rate I charge. When you think about it an hours therapy to help you feel better is the same as having your hair or nails done, or men going to the gym, pub or whatever is important to you.

🌻It resonated with me that I didn’t bat an eyelid about paying for my hair and nails. But worried about talking money.

🌻Make today your starting point to evaluate YOU and your self care.

Remember you can’t pour from an empty cup. ☕️

🌻This is definitely true. When the bad feelings outweigh the good it’s worth reminding ourself that there is nothing to be embarrassed about, there is plenty of help out there.

🌻Reach out! 🌻

17/04/2024

🌻This is so true. Take time next time you feel stressed to listen to your body. Where do you feel it?

🌻Working these things through with a therapist will open a whole new perspective to identifying ailments/aches and pains and explore the reasons behind it, and give you coping techniques and strategies.

Sorry for the silence… it’s been a while since I posted some quotes or resources. Doesn’t life goes by in a flash! How is it over half way through April? 🤷‍♀️

💛Sunday thoughts….reflection and self care.

🩵Are you feeling down, having a few issues or just want to change the way you connect with others.

💛 Do you react to people in a certain way and want to change your thoughts, feelings and behaviours?

🩵Looking at what is in our control and what is not is a useful way to think when we become aware that things aren’t right, or we’re struggling with a certain situation or circumstance, or dealing with difficult relationships.

💛Challenging those negative thoughts and replacing them with a positive kind thought will help us start to feel better about ourselves.

🩵Take a look at the resources below.

Just a little reminder to everyone. 👇

You never know when someone may just need a pick me up.

Time for some self reflection maybe?

31/12/2023

❤️The New Year of 2024 is looming. Just as Christmas did, this means different things to everyone. It can be painful for people experiencing loss and grief of all kinds. And time for personal reflection.

❤️Today is the start of social media exploding with how well people have done, businesses have done and great times they have had and how they look forward to 2024, which is so lovely to hear and be thankful for.

❤️Let’s also spare a thought for those that need a little help, a little guidance and support on the new path of 2024.

❤️Let’s open the book of opportunity and look after the things you need to, such as mental health, friendships, relationships and jobs and anything else that’s important to you.

❤️Sending everyone the best of wishes.

🎄 If anyone finds themself struggling over the festive period try to give yourself some compassion.

🎄 Consider what it is your finding difficult.
🎄 Is it in your control? If not try to let go of the thoughts or fear. The picture below shows an example of this.

🎄Another way to take the pressure of you when things go round your mind is to write them down, either in a note book, phone notes, journal. Whatever works for you.

🎄Talking helps if you have someone you trust. Also my last post has useful numbers on if anyone is in need.

21/12/2023

❤️ For anyone in need of help over the Christmas period.

🩷 Do you feel anxiety on a regular basis?

🩵 Do you struggle to make sense of why you are feeling the way you do?

🩷 Does the below image resonate with you?

The iceberg goes deeper than what’s on the surface level! All of the other feelings ‘pushed down’ to then find a way of resurfacing and ways that may not be helpful to your own wellbeing.

If you can relate and feel ready, reach out and make the first steps to a clearer mind and way of thinking!

07/12/2023

🎄 Here we are in the run up to Christmas again, and probably one of the most stressful times of the year for people.

❤️ Christmas means so many different things to each and every one of us.

❤️ Try not to be sucked in to the ‘Perfect Christmas’, ‘The Perfect night out’, ‘The Perfect Gift’… the list goes on.

🎄 There are lots of Christmas films being shown now, they project the ‘feel good, everything is perfect’ factor and in reality this is not always the case.

❤️ Spare a thought for those who may struggle at Christmas time.

🪽Those who have difficulties for many reason.
🪽Those who have lost loved ones, or experiencing loss of any other kind. Loss comes in many forms.
🪽Those who are spending their first Christmas without their loved ones. 🪽❤️

❤️Be kind to yourself it’s ok to say no to people!
❤️ Let’s try and look after our mental health and wellbeing.
❤️ If you find yourself struggling reach out. ❤️

29/11/2023

❤️ Thoughts…does this resonate with you?

❤️ It’s good to talk and explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and learn coping techniques.

❤️ If you become aware or recognise the below 👇 reach out and don’t struggle alone.

🩷Weekend reminder and one for us all to take notice of. 🩷

07/11/2023

🌻 I saw this image and thought about what clients bring into therapy and where the journey takes them.

🌻 It takes a lot of hard work and is an emotional journey, but imagine managing to get rid of the baggage, reflecting on sitting with the feelings that arise, and when those demons appear having the confidence to know you have the tools learnt in therapy to deal with them better.

🌻 Believe that your darkest days do not have to stay forever! Reach out and take back the power!

🌻 Anyone struggling with their mental health, whether that’s men, women or children….reach out and invest in your own mental health.

🌻Don’t underestimate the importance of this. We spend money on nails, lashes, clothes etc but if your mental health is bad, this is a superficial way to feel better.

🌻It’s good to talk! And therapy does not just have to be talking, there’s many other ways to explore why you feel, think or behave the way you do!

❤️💙 Reach out if you are struggling 💙❤️

🌻A nice little reminder about the things we can and can’t control.

🌻Whether we are adults or young people we all will come across anxiety when we find ourselves in situations. By putting them into context, exploring and reflecting on what we can control will make us feel more at peace with ourselves and empowered.

🌻Remember it’s always ok to say no and set your own boundaries. This is powerful in itself.

❤️ Hello to everyone who has liked my page, shared quotes etc.

🌻 I have been so busy recently I have not had the time to post any self help quotes, or inspiration to help others. I can’t believe where the time has gone.

❤️ I too have had to take stock of what’s important to me. Considering my own self care and what that looks like. This is a good exercise to do and to remember to reflect regularly on what you’re grateful for, what your goals are and to avoid burnout.

🌻 I hope you are doing ok and if not remember to reach out.

❤️ It’s good to talk.

🌻As a client attending therapy sessions it is well known that the work requires honesty so the healing journey can commence.

🌻Sitting with the uncomfortable feelings, talking about emotive things and trying to work out whatever it is that’s bothering you.

🌻Therapy doesn’t always need to be the ‘big stuff’ but can also be a place to work on things if you are feeling confused or lost.

❤️ I recently dealt with some things that got too much for me. My body was telling me something needed to change. I listened to those thoughts, sat with the feelings and acknowledged what needed to be done. I feel so much better for it.

❤️ Even as a therapist we are still human, with our own stuff going on.

❤️ What’s important is working through it and it worked for me.

🥰 Do you need any help, however small?

🌻Being self aware is an important aspect to our daily life!

🌱Being present…

🌱Being in the here and now….

🌱Learning to not look back or look too far into the future.

🌱Are you aware of this?

If you need help to explore the reasons why, get in touch to see if we can work together.

16/07/2023

🌻 Are you ready to write a new chapter?

🌻 Do you know how?

🌻 You can’t change your past but you can change your future.

🌻 Talking things through with a therapist will help you make a start on your writing your own story! The new you…the authentic you. 🌻

👇This is a common theme when clients come to therapy. Clients can struggle to understand their feelings, sit with and acknowledge them and in the end feel more aware and able to embrace change. 🌻

👤I know, I talked from my head place, not from a feeling place. It’s uncomfortable and hard…but to feel comfortable you have to feel uncomfortable. Sounds confusing maybe, but it works. ❤️

🌱Therapy is a journey, it can be a long emotive and challenging one, with highs where you feel you are ‘getting somewhere’, lows where you feel ‘this is not working’. And lightbulb moments when it all starts to make sense. 💡

🌻Investment in your own mental health is important.

🌻If you would like to explore further feel free to reach out.

🥰I just want to pop on and and say hello and thank you to everyone that is following my page, and who has liked it.

❤️Also a big warm welcome to my new followers and people who have liked it recently.

🤲It takes time to build up a social media page and for people to engage so I do appreciate it.

Please feel free to share and tag your friends, families, co workers, neighbours. 😀

🏖️I’ve been away for two weeks, and back to reality almost a week. A fortnight spent in my happy place, which part of it is spending time at the beach, listening to the waves and the wind. It really relaxes me and gives me a sense of peace! Even on a night.

It also gave me time to reflect on everything, and to consider putting things into action that I’ve been procrastinating about!

🌻What is your happy place? Do you need help to find it?

As always please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss further.

Photo courtesy of me…I do love a good sunset! ☀️☀️

It sounds like a cliche but ‘BE KIND TO YOURSELF’ 🌻. It’s not easy but with the right support it can help and you can start to feel better in yourself.

It’s not a nice place to be - if you can relate and would like to reach out please get in touch.

🌱Remember small steps and the first one is the bravest. 🌱

04/06/2023

I love this and it’s so important to feel cared for, listened to and not judged!

Today I said “I’m fine”, not once
But five times altogether
When people asked “how are you?”
Then made small talk of the weather

And so I hid behind my mask
The one I’d worn a while
I set in place my bravest face
And dressed it with a smile

And that was how the day went
All “I’m fine” and talk of rain
Until somebody asked me how I was
Then asked again

They asked if I was truly fine
And I said I was not
And they said they were sorry
That they couldn’t do a lot

But then they sat beside me
Whilst I spoke the truth at last
They listened and they held me
As the tears slipped through my mask

And where before, I’d felt I should
Maintain this brave façade,
I realised there was much to gain
By letting down my guard

See, though my load was still the same
It now was not as heavy
‘Cause sitting and offloading it
Had helped a bit already

Today they asked “how are you?”
And I told them I was fine
‘Til someone saw behind the mask
And asked me one more time

And though they may have felt
That there was little they could do
They’ll never know how much it meant
To tell someone the truth

“I’m fine” is from my second book:

🩵So very powerful and true! 💙

25/05/2023

🌻I usually share posts and say a few things about them, but I thought I would pop on tonight and be more specific about what I can offer! 🌻

I will work with you and provide the tools to deal with:-

🌱Anxiety
🌱Stress
🌱Low self esteem
🌱Self worth
🌱Trauma
🌱Relationships and family dynamics
🌱Work related stress

I provide a service which is non judgemental and gives you a safe confidential space to share your worries or concerns, or just be the person who ‘see’s or hear’s you when you may feel others overlook you. Are you familiar with that feeling of low self esteem, self worth and wondering if you are invisible.

I will help you identify triggers, and unravel confusion and help you feel more clear headed.

I can work face to face, online or on zoom if this is your preferred choice.

If you feel I can help please get in touch by messenger and we can arrange a convenient time to discuss further.

🌻Don’ t forget the first step is the hardest…and the bravest but what you get out of it is invaluable! 🌻. YOU ARE WORTH IT! 🌻

17/05/2023

🌻I saw this shared today and thought it was an important reminder for us all!

🌻Boundaries are powerful!

🌻They are good for our mental health and if you are happy with the boundaries you put in place, this will help reduce anxiety felt by you when making decisions or dealing with other people in your life!

🌤️If you need help please reach out I’m here to help!🌤️
