Number Train is a UNIQUE concept designed to make maths fun through games, songs and art activities and it is loved by many - including teacher-parents who see the value in all that we do and preschools which we visit each week.

It's not pushy, it's not intense tuition ... it's learning without realising 😉 through structured play activities led by a passionate primary school teacher.

What is Number Train? Part 4 of 4!

The last of the 4Ms is MUSIC 🎵 🎶!

"Music is a great way for the children to have fun and learn together!

Memorable songs help children to learn skills such as counting, patterns, adding and subtraction, whilst dancing and playing instruments develop a wide range of abilities from rhythm to co-ordination.

Nursery rhymes are a fun and familiar way to introduce children to rhyme, rhythm and patterns and research shows that knowing a few by heart makes a difference to success in school.

You’ll find yourself singing our special Number Train song around the kitchen in no time!"

We have worked hard to create our own music library over the years with songs recorded at an appropriate speed to suit our activities.

“Children are often bursting with energy, so including lots of movement in our classes lets them keep their bodies active whilst still staying engaged.

Our carefully planned sessions allow for ‘brain breaks’ which give the children time to move and they have been proved to help improve concentration and learning.

So whether it’s a gross motor physical challenge like racing to collect hidden items, or a task requiring fine motor skills and dexterity, Number Train provides your children with a full body work out as they learn and prepares their upper body for writing in school.”

As our team grows and their capacity to get un classes increases in September, NOW is a great time to try out Number Train if you think this is something you would like to offer in September.

We are having lots of fun in our Superhero sessions this week! Here is a sneaky look at some of our play time activities. If you interested why not pop along for a trial this week. Sessions still available on Thursday and Friday!

This week is week! A session I love and that is very popular with the children!

Our aim is to develop confidence and a love for maths in young children, and we start by offering engaging themes such as Superheroes.

One off sessions available for this so come and see how we can make maths fun 🦸‍♀️

Tuesday 1.15pm in Meanwood, Wednesday 1pm in Headingley, 10am in Weetwood and Friday in Oakwood at 11.30am and 1pm.

To celebrate we are looking back on some of the activities we have done this year.

Each week we have a different theme and celebrate maths through lots of fun games, music, movement and art. The activities are designed to be fun and enjoyable so that the children don’t realise all the maths that is interwoven into the activities as they just think they are playing!

Thank you to all the families that board the train each week. It is always a pleasure seeing them smiling and engaging in the different activities helping to promote a love of learning and a love of maths!
