Hi everyone! I'm Ruth, the proud founder of Miniplay2learn, where I offer engaging toddler and preschool classes designed to inspire a love for learning through play.

I'm thrilled to announce our upcoming Opening Event next week, where all children, including siblings, are invited to join us for ✨free!✨ It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore my new classes and meet other parents.

With a background in teaching across both key stages, I am committed to providing children with enriching experiences. In my play-focussed sessions, we will be discovering the world around us, and for the next five weeks, our theme will be "All About the Body,"emphasising the development of fine and gross motor skills.

I am passionate about sensory-based activities that encourage children to explore their environment freely. There’s no pressure to complete every task, and I strive to include something for every interest, so you can expect a delightful array of creative projects!

I share because it spreads awareness and a close friend of mine a year ago encouraged me to do it. She reminded me that my journey was worth sharing and how encouraging it would be to see how far I've come. She wasn't wrong.

End of Chapter: 'The Baby Years.'

It felt utterly ridiculous today, standing in my garden with tears filling my eyes as I watched all these items ready to go to new homes. I couldn’t help but feel attached to them, flooded with memories of the gentle sway of the rocking chair during late-night feedings, the joyful giggles and teething mouths from the jumperoo’s bounces, and the first attempts at eating in a high chair.

I realised that my longing to keep this bulky, bright baby gear was really a longing to have my boys as babies again—just for one more day. If only we could turn back time 😢

These items were more than just baby gear; they were witnesses to my children’s first smiles, first steps, and countless milestones. So, as pathetic as it might sound, it was hard to say goodbye! My thirties have truly been the best years of my life. We are now 'done,' mainly due to chemo but also because we are content with the blessings we have already. Our three boys are now growing into new bikes and scooters, and with these new belongings, come new memories.

My arm up in the air next to a bath is never a selfie I thought I would take 😂

But this marks two important things for me.
I’m able to bath my own children again AND only 4 days after my second operation- I can actually move my arm above my head. When I was recovering from my first op, this simple action took three weeks so I’m feeling good this Friday! 🎉💕

I have a lot more to go through but I think I deserved a celebratory post none the less. Thank you for all the well wishes this week and the checking in.

Feel so fortunate that all my children have attended this nursery when I see posts like this. They are focused on play set ups (as much as I am 😂) and the staff are all so passionate about what they do. Each room is focused on the appropriate age. My little Judy Pants is in tots at the moment five days a week and he absolutely loves it. 🥰

I'm making the most of feeling great whilst I can and hosting a Miniplay2learn session next week. If there's enough interest, I'll even hold two sessions in one day. I'm aware that Friday is typically the busiest day, but the hubby and I are taking a short break before my next upcoming surgery so apologies!

Next week's theme revolves around emotions, making it an engaging topic for children to discuss. You can anticipate the usual enjoyable one-hour session filled with activities like drawing, painting, and hands-on exploration for the kids. 🥰😢😜😔😊😳😡

I cannot express my gratitude enough for all the messages I've received. I'm currently feeling quite defeated, but I understand that recovery is a gradual process. Just as trees need seasons to survive, I am reminded while watching them enjoy the last bit of summer that it's not feasible to blossom every day. I find myself in a season of solitude at the moment, which is something we often neglect. This is my time to heal, grow, and reflect. 🌳
