Key take aways from the session that I'll be implementing in my clients work:
-Keep training the systems, building out clear prompts and then finding what works to use across other chatbots. Test and learn is at the heart of everything I do and AI is no different.
-Tell AI to stop hallucinating! I didn't even think to use that as part of a prompt but I'll definitely be using it going forward.
- Analysing my internal processes for greater efficiency using AI support. Medium effort for maximum reward, setting objectives, kpis and detailed outcomes. The more I can improve my own efficiencies, the more my clients will benefit!

Meta will make you murderous if you let it...
I've only now been able to recover from my meltdown I had last week after I got locked out of my Facebook account following a super annoying glitch from Meta.
These are such simple and small things but after experiencing this for myself, I made the mistake of going onto Reddit for support and found hundreds of small businesses who had all experienced a glitch or not managed their access professionally, and found themselves locked out of their business accounts for years.
Most businesses don't have a Meta rep (which I am lucky to have) so it's crucial we all follow these simple fail safes to keep our accounts and businesses secure.
Google wants your money, but think carefully before you go handing it over!
Google Ads is a fantastic tool for driving traffic to your website specifically to those people who are in market for your products and services.
But there's a lot to consider before you dive straight in.

Last week I did some co-working with my fellow contractor
I mainly work from home when I'm not out meeting clients and recording content but I'm lucky to have a great office set up and my own space to be creative.
was a really nice change of scenery and offered me everything I needed to focus on my tasks for the day (this is not a paid post, I genuinely enjoyed working there!)
I'm also lucky to be based in a city that values independent businesses. is an amazing place for sole traders and independent businesses to thrive and there's so much development happening here that will only improve that offering.
I love Leeds, I love West Yorkshire and I'm so glad I get to work with all these amazing northern clients, with northern colleagues getting their hustle on!

Don't underestimate the power of WOM marketing...
Bit of backstory from me, I grew up in this small village called Haworth. And still to this day, everyone knows everyone and they rely on the word of their neighbour. (Especially when a bomb squad appears in the village next door (keep reading...) )
No not because they don't have the internet or social media, but because they have close knit relationships with those that live in the same village and so they trust and lean on their opinion.
I know a lot of businesses in area's like these that don't have a website, or social media or a fancy app. They just have a name and a logo and lots of great recommendations.
It's not so much the same in cities and towns because you might not know your postwoman/man's name or who the local electrician is. So a lot of my clients do rely on social media and digital marketing to get their name out there.
But don't forget... your name and your face and the stories people tell about that name and that face still matter, enormously... Especially in the little village I once lived in, where when that bomb squad appeared in the neighbouring village, you can bet your life on it the villagers found out before the press did (true story).

Yesterday was my last day at as their Digital and Social Senior Comms and Marketing Officer!
My journey has been a wild one!
2019- Left agency life and joined the public sector with the hope of working on more community based projects.
2020- Covid hit and I was placed to lead the team on all digital and social marketing (be careful what you wish for!)
2022- Took a well earned break from Covid and went travelling for a year
2023- rejoined the team as they supported me towards the creation of AdBeat Marketing!
So as of next week (once I return from my holiday in Hong Kong) I'll be full time with AdBeat and fully open to take on more amazing clients!

Last time I was down at the docks was when I was working as a full time media manager at a busy agency.
It's nice to be back in a new capacity, brainstorming and collaborating with other agencies and discussing forward thinking approaches to marketing.
Blue Monday? Not for me! Other than my hands being blue from the cold!!!
What a start to 2024!
