With school half term next week, Spring feels like it’s just around the corner now. I made an Autumn wreath for a local lady last year, and was delighted when she got in contact again requesting a long lasting Spring wreath. So here it is - a mix of fresh foliage and locally sourced dried statice ( the pinks and purples) that still has a scent of honey from the bees!

These cute little Spring filled bud vases are on their way to the tables at this morning. Best enjoyed with a cuppa 😊

OK dear people - there’s still 2 days of the school term to go, but it’s time for me at least to break up for Christmas! Thank you all so much for your support as I embarked on my floristry journey this year. The words of encouragement at the school gates, the purchases of flowers, wreaths, garlands, the social media stuff - it’s all seen and really appreciated. Ive met some fantastic new floristry folk along the way, and had some really special trips up to my precious Lake District to learn my craft. There’s more to come in 2024, with workshops led by me and seasonal flowers for our homes a plenty. Thank you to each of you for your support in all your different ways. It’s all much much appreciated. Love Katie x

I do love a fresh foliage garland! This particular beauty was created by in a 1:1 lunchtime lesson with myself. Kate foraged the foliage from her garden and then we worked some Friday Florist magic into it to create this beauty (and it’s no where near Friday yet!)

1) keep it cool - outside is perfect but if you are keeping your wreath inside avoid putting it by a heat source 2) keep it hydrated - ideally mist your wreath with a water spray every couple of days to keep the foliage happy 3) look after the moss base - for maximum longevity give the moss base a careful dip in water each week to re- hydrate 4) Enjoy your wreath!

It may be Monday, but this Friday Florist has deliveries to be made. Delivering fresh foliage Christmas wreaths and garlands to North Leeds doors this morning

Bring the outside in! My smaller fresh foliage Christmas wreaths also make for a gorgeous table centrepiece. Simple yet effective.

Getting ready for a huge delivery round of pre ordered wreaths on Friday. Some traditional tones, some to be neutral toned, some bespoke …. All unique and made with love.

I’m so delighted people have chosen me to make their Christmas wreaths and table decorations. I now have just a few spaces left for pre order deliveries on Friday 8th December ( a week on Friday). All other delivery slots are fully booked. Thanks so much lovely Leeds people.

Work/Joy in progress this afternoon.

All of my fresh Christmas wreaths are made with a sustainably sourced British moss base. The Spagnum moss I use can hold up to eight times its weight in water content. This makes it an excellent base as it provides a water source for the fresh foliage, so your wreath will last longer. It also feels super springy and soft to create with.

Wintery hues

Good long stems for taller vases and a touch of winter hues with Echinops spheres, poppy and Eucalyptus. One of todays everlasting bouquets.

Lovely Lunaria catching the sunlight this morning. Called Lunaria as some say it looks like the moon. So simple and sophisticated.

It feels a bit early to say the word, but I am now taking orders for my Christmas wreaths! Created at my kitchen table, 50cm diameter full of pine, blue spruce, eucalyptus and berries, they smell amazing! There will be a limited number available so if you would like one delivering to your doorstep in December, please pre order! There are two colour options, neutrals or traditional. DM for guidance and orders.

Sometimes I find November can get forgotten in a bit of a rush to Christmas and the end of the year. We must remember remember not just the 5th of November, but more to take our time in November. Go just a little slower if we can. Enjoy the evenings drawing in, the time at home to nurture ourselves. Take a moment in time, just for us.

Get measuring your vase height! Longer stems ( approx 45cm) with twice the blooms or shorter stems (25cm) will be available in this afternoon. As we move into November these will probably be my last deep pink creations for a little while before I move to wintery tones. Enjoy choosing!

Start of a new month, time to reflect. October highlights - 1) getting up to the Lake District ( twice!), once to continue to develop my skills at flower school, and a second time to indulge in time well spent with my husband and children. 2) creating my everlasting wreaths for and for some lovely new customers and 3) my Friday home deliveries. I have loved my Friday local deliveries. Seeing the joy on people’s faces as they receive their chosen creations, either bought as gifts for friends or early teachers gifts, or to uplift a corner of their home. Thank you to all.

This weeks everlasting posies have sold out already. Thank you if you purchased one. Look out for more posies there on Friday. My medium bouquets to collect from my home sold out in a couple of hours yesterday too. Thank you all so much! More to come this Friday. Needed my daily walk this lunchtime to ground myself as the dream becomes reality. Spotted some fab mushrooms too!

A bespoke order now happily on its way to a local family for their front door this Autumn. Local flower ingredients all sourced from about 5 miles from my home, made with plenty of love at my kitchen table.

The start of a new month, an opportunity to reflect on the month just gone. Thank you all for your support this past month, as I finally got my floristry journey out of my head and heart, and into reality.
