We often get asked how to find a model number of a Velux window. Here’s a simple demonstration. For older windows the metal plate maybe located on the right hand side rather than the left hand side, and the model number could read slightly differently eg GGL1, GHL, GGL 606 or similar. We need your model number to give you a more accurate costing for your Velux replacement or blind installation.

Scaffolding up and down within the day and Velux replaced.

At hot one yesterday 🥵 replacing a double sloping and fixed combination. Customer opted for heat protection glazing due to them being South facing windows. Blackout blinds fitted internally to further help keep the heat out.

New cold room Velux window and Topseal GRP system to box guttering at property in Sherburn in Elmet today.

When the customer contacted us their box guttering was causing water ingress issues. Due to its location and height, maintenance was difficult. By installing an access window, this allows the customer to be able to maintain and clear this area of debris more easily in future and saving scaffolding/access costs.

Chimney works - LS17

This year we have seen a huge increase in the number of chimney failures. Cement mortar is absolutely fatal for chimneys and should not be used. Here we have partially rebuilt a customers chimney, and repointed a second with NHL lime mortar. Like mortar, unlike cement, allows the chimney to breathe and so helps eliminate damp problems internally.

Lower level slate reroof at Huby now complete. Using good quality reclaimed slate to match existing main roof. It’s the attention to detail that makes the difference, going the extra mile, ensuring the roof space is thoroughly cleaned of all debris before re-covering. No cutting corners here!

Garforth- new Topseal GRP warm roof ( 100mm insulation) new timber Furring to aid water drainage/ Velux curve flat roof window with solar operated blind , new black UPVC Fasias and guttering . 25 year Warrenty and Competant roofer building regulation papers .

Wetherby - Re-roofing project now completed , using Cupa 50 ( excellance ) slate and CR1 clay angle capped ridge , all insulation upgraded , replacement Timber fasia and barge boards using Vacum treated timber and Ogee guttering . Lead work and new Velux installations .

Church Fenton: before and after. Installing a new Velux window into attic space to create natural light for the client. Conservation style Velux window was chosen due to the property being a Listed Building. Due to the out of reach height of the window the customer opted for a solar conversion kit and solar blind for ease of operation.

Wetherby - small chimney re-build with NHL lime mortar (Breathable) and new lead flashing.

Garforth - Dormer Anthracite ship lap cladding and white fasia and guttering , including new lead flashings and super quilt insulation / counter battens .
