Fuel poverty affects too many people in West Yorkshire. Everyone deserves a home that is warm, dry, and easy to heat.

Last Winter, Lillian had roof insulation and intelligent radiator valves fitted. This reduced the heat lost through her roof and regulated the temperature of the rooms in her bungalow more efficiently. Her home was one of around 600 that received thermal improvements.

Ageing housing stock is harder to make improvements to, and harder to keep warm, dry and mould free. But the West Yorkshire Housing Strategy sets ambitious targets to tackle this issue for residents.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority aims to fit homes across the region with heat pumps, solar panels and intelligent radiator valves amongst other improvements.
