In 1888, she took her husband’s invention, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, and drove it over 100 kilometers. Along the way, she encountered technical difficulties and proved to be very resourceful, including using a hat pin to fix a clogged fuel line and a garter to repair a broken ignition.

Beyond her contributions to the advancement of cars, she also paved the way to for women in the industry.

We are thrilled to announce we are supporting the Holbeck Food Bank Appeal, a community-driven initiative aimed at supporting those in need during these challenging times.

🤝 The Holbeck Food Bank Appeal is a collaborative effort between local businesses, community organisations, and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a difference in our community. Our goal is to provide essential food items to families and individuals who need that extra bit of help.

🥫🍞 We kindly request your support in the form of food donations. Non-perishable items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereals, and long-life milk are greatly appreciated. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will go a long way in helping us reach our target and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.

📦 Donations can be dropped off at the Mercedes-Benz of Leeds. We have set up a designated area where you can safely leave your donations. Please ensure that all items are within their expiration dates and in good condition.

💡 Additionally, monetary donations are also welcome. These funds will be used to purchase fresh produce and other perishable items to complement the non-perishable donations. If you wish to make a financial contribution, please email [email protected] or call 07710 467587 for more information.
