Last week saw Daniel Hewitt attend the Healthcare Buildings Forum. The forum provides architectural and construction professionals the chance to find out what is happening in the world of healthcare design.

As designers within the healthcare sector we like to be at the forefront of any new challenges, trends and innovations that need to be considered for future projects.

It is interesting to have a real diversity of work coming through such a small office at QAD these days. From social housing refurbs on individual properties to award winning medical centres, then all of the way through to enormous logistics buildings such as this up in Durham. The key thing for us is that they all get a thorough package of love and attention in the care of our delivery.

The bad news this week was that I got caught up in yet another dreaded M1 closure and diversion the good news was that I was routed past our development on Dodworth Road, Barnsley from 2014 which is still looking really smart even on a dreary January day.

It looks like being another busy one for QAD Architects with our appointment onto the Prosper Design Consultancy Services Framework coming into being as of yesterday.

It is always good to spread some Cheer, particularly at this time of year. So here is Laura doing just that at Mission Christmas for Yorkshire Children's Charity, hopefully making life just that little bit better for some children this season. Well done Laura Keenan

The 2023 QAD Christmas Fuddle...The start of a new to become annual event I suspect with a vast array of homemade food and Christmas quiz expertly assembled by Iain Cant... and oh what an amazing cake made by Iain's very talented granddaughter.

An excellent presentation and discussion around the Building Safety Act this lunchtime with Assent Building Control - Approved Building Inspectors and some of the team both online and in person. Thanks Jane for facilitating this.
