This is how Pritti and Jamie bond and become best friends. As Jamie’s studious bestie, she invigorates and encourages him but also holds accountable when he goes a bit too far. Pritti Pasha is the best friend we all hope to have one day.

Ray is a bundle of energy and such a character to play, she really is a ray of sunshine! Being best friends with Margaret is like Jamie having a second mother and gives him that extra bit of support and encouragement that is needed. Ray is sharp-witted, quirky and tough.

A huge congratulations to all those who have been nominated for The Sooty Awards 2024👏 We are so pleased to have been nominated 8 times for our previous production of Legally Blonde! The cast, crew and team have worked so hard! We are so grateful to have been apart of another wonderful season.

Parking:
There is a car park outside the church but limited spaces so be sure to get there on time for a space. However, there is plenty of street parking!

For those unfamiliar, this hit musical is based on the real-life story of a teenager from Sheffield, Jamie Campbell, who at the age of 16 dreamed of becoming a drag queen and wearing a dress to his school prom, only to face prejudice from his teachers and his peers. It was the 2011 documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16 which inspired this musical; in this dramatised version we follow Jamie New, his mum Margaret and their family friend Ray who conspire to make Jamie’s dreams a reality.

Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. He doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. Jamie is going to be a sensation. Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight. This funny, outrageous and touching musical sensation is to be experienced by all the family and not to be missed! This sparkling coming of age musical will have everybody talking about Jamie for years to come.
