Build the habits that will last a lifetime.
I've never been big on short term 'weight loss challenges' as in my opinion it doesn't give us the knowledge moving forward where we can learn and implement habits that will help us stay healthy and in control of our weight long term.
If you can learn and understand what and why you do things and how they can become sustainable habits you will then pass those habits onto those around you, including your children and theres probably nothing more worthwhile on your health journey than that.
Theres genius in simplicity.
A great tip to help with reducing your body fat
I always tell my clients when they’re starting their weight loss journey to focus on creating strength in their training to enable them to move more outside of the gym.
In d**g this they will increase the amount of NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis) which is the energy we exert outside of our planned exercise.
On this 53 minute walk around a beautiful lake in Rufford Park I burned 234 calories, now if this could be done as part of your routine 3 times a week that totals 702 calories.
This done over the course of a year (I’m big on building habits and looking at the long term benefit over 52 weeks) is a massive 36,504 calories, as it takes 3,500 burned to lose 1lb of body fat, that would give us a loss of 10.5 lbs just on this alone.
Now think about getting your nutrition in line to put yourself in a calorie deficit (easily done on Engine House Fitness’s nutritional section) and include our planned training EAT (exercise activity thermogenesis) and you’re well on your way to achieving your weight loss goals.

Keeping it simple
Mondays are always a full on day at Engine House Fitness so I make sure my food is prepped and ready.
I always prep my food on a Sunday evening, making enough to get me through the first couple of days of the week. Another prep done on Wednesday then sees me through to the weekend.
I always keep it simple and it only took 20 mins cook time total to do this.
Tomorrows nutrition will be as follows
Breakfast - 4 whole eggs and greens
Meal 2- Venison, greens and a handful of cashews
Meal 3- Homemade oatcake (pre workout)
Meal 4- Post training shake
Meal 5- Venison, greens and rice
Meal 6- Chicken and greens
Meal 7- 4 whole eggs
