“There are no words to describe how incredibly amazing Dhil and the team have been.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We had a blank canvas for our bedroom and en-suite and we was certain we wanted a hotel vibe for our space but had no idea where to start. I come across an article Dhil had put together and thought this is exactly what I need, whilst the internet is great for inspo, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We were up against extremely tight deadlines and Dhil kindly arranged a discovery call and our journey since then has genuinely been amazing. We loved our concept boards and never thought these ideas were possible but Dhil was great at walking us through, helping us be brave with colours, textures and materials and on top of that she worked so well with our builders and joiners to create our perfect space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From sourcing our bathroom tiles to our wardrobe wrap nothing was too much trouble and it was such a pleasure to work with Dhil. She kept us calm and made our journey easy and enjoyable and our next project will be with Dhil and teams assistance! Should you chose to work with the team, you will not be disappointed.”

What an Entrance |
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A home’s sets the tone for the rest of the house. It’s also the first & last impression guests have of your home. While sometimes overlooked, your is actually one of the most important areas when thinking through design. Here are my top tips:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Add a mirror | Whether free standing or bespoke panels, mirrors reflect light making your entrance feel larger, they’re practical & also make a statement. Just avoid placing them across your door because according to feng shui & vastu shastra, mirrors across the door will reflect the energy coming in, bringing negative energy into the home or pushing good energy out.
2. Change the flooring | Define your with different flooring to the rest of the home. My favourite is a classic checkered floor entrance or a bordered porcelain tile. You’d be surprised by the impact regardless of the size of entrance you’re working with.
3. Incorporate Storage | If you can include it in your budget I will always opt for bespoke storage. It keeps things neat & tidy & means you can customise it to include seating if possible. If your budget or space is tight then perhaps a storage ottoman or a stylish sideboard for hiding shoes.
4. Bold Wall Treatments | Greet your guests with a bold statement, either with a rich colour that complements the rest of your home aesthetic. If you’re not that keen on colour, opt for emotive artwork or textured wallpaper instead.
5. Light it Up | Introduce a Light fixture. This can be a dramatic ceiling light, simple wall sconces flanking a mirror, picture light above artwork or even a sculptural table lamp on a console.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Creating an entryway that's impactful but functional, aesthetically-pleasing but entirely practical is a fine balance. We’ve got something quite cool up our sleeve for our instaqueen Perrie’s home. What do you include in ?

“DKT Interior Design Studio deserves five stars and more!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My wife and I wanted to give our living room a good treat for Christmas, so my wife went online to do some research. Later she told me she had found some interior designers who would do a perfect job. I was reluctant from the beginning, but I decided to try it. Honestly, that is one of the best decisions we made in 2022!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Dhil and Anna were the two we had the opportunity to work closely with on this project. They have impeccable taste and are highly reliable and patient. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them.
The concepts and ideas they presented at the very beginning were beyond our wildest dream, and the best part is, the final work even looked much better than the conceptualised design and 3D render. I’m sure they are very proud of the final production, the same as we are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To add, they are very professional too. Unlike other interior designers we’ve worked with, they didn’t force their ideas on us. We worked with them throughout the process, and some of our ideas were taken on board, which is precisely how we wanted our working relationship to be from the beginning.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They went beyond and above for us, and we like to use this platform to thank all the staff and subcontractors from DKT Interior Design and, most importantly, Dhil and Anna. Without hesitation, I recommend DKT Interior to anyone seeking a creative, talented, patient interior designer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you again”

Minimal Magic | We’re 3 months into implementation of Perrie’s Living-Dining-Kitchen upgrade and nearly at the finish line.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some changes have been made along the way but every decision has helped enhance this room’s look and feel.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A large open plan living dining and kitchen with a modern but sterile finish is now being injected with layers of texture. From 3D moulding to textured wallpaper, oversized Nordic rug, soft veined Calacatta backsplash, touches of brass hardware, lots of gorgeous cushions, statement marble coffee table, robust ebony dining table, lush linen curtains with blackout blinds are just some of the ways we’re up levelling the space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
By keeping the palette neutral and just piling on the texture and geometry, we’re giving this space the tranquility it deserves. With such a majestic countryside backdrop, you don’t need to overdo it to create a luxurious contemporary finish.

Compact Luxury |

Who said smaller kitchens couldn’t be luxurious? This is a shining example of how impactful a small luxury kitchen can be.

I love Sahara Noir marble/porcelain as a finish and here it’s used perfectly to enhance the decadence of the kitchen.

Also love the limited upper cabinetry and how it’s all about the view to the outside which makes a huge difference to how airy this smaller kitchen feels.

Lots of other great features like the gold tube hood etc. What do you love?

With Autumn in full swing and Winter creeping up, cosiness is all on the brain. What better way to enjoy the warmth and ambience on these longer autumnal nights than with a sensational fireplace. It's no wonder every recent client conversation revolves around the incorporation of a fireplace in their design. We've been looking at a variety of fireplaces for design inspiration and many as part of a media wall. Here are a few examples of some standalone fireplace designs that stopped me in my tracks.

Beautiful Budget Friendly Bathroom Lights |

Have you ever tried sourcing pretty budget friendly lights for your bathroom, only to realise afterwards that they weren’t fit for a wet room environment? Yeah sucks!

To help you prevent any pains in sourcing, I’ve shared a few of my fave bathroom lights that meet the IP44 rating and higher. These are all affordable, and either contemporary, Nordic or art deco inspired, there’s also some traditional and mid century options too.

Of course if your bathroom is large enough with decent ventilation, you could get away with an IP20 sconce positioned alongside your vanity mirror / cabinet, provided it’s away from the splash zone.

Read the Blog for all the deets. Link in bio. For more help with your bathroom design, feel free to drop me a DM.

2 0 2 1 • D E S I G N T R E N D S • Hi friends 👋🏽, lots of new faces following along after yesterday's launch of The Interior Intelligence Society Chat. I am over the moon about the feedback so far and so amped for the next episode. ⠀

While you wait for the next Society event update, why not check out the first blog on my new website. (LINK IN BIO) 👆🏽⠀

It's basically a summary of trend report that was released in December. This was the fourth year they produced this report after surveying interior designers far and wide. ⠀

I don't think I could live without 1dibs as a designer. It's literally heaven for sourcing the most unique pieces. ⠀

I hope you enjoy it. Lots of fun trends that have emerged from an incredibly challenging and transformational year. ⠀

C O N T R A S T • When you walk into a room and catch your breath at how well-designed it is, you may not be able to pinpoint exactly what makes a room stunning. The secret ingredient? Contrast. ⠀

The easiest way to achieve contrast is with colour. Giving rooms a complementing color scheme using two opposing shades on the color wheel creates the most impact. ⠀

Don't know where to start? Black and white will never go out of style and can be quite impactful when toned down with warmer wood accents. A great example is this dining room designed by ⠀

Prefer minimal interiors? For this contrast can be achieved through texture in the same palette. Putting two contrasting textures together adds visual weight to the space, meaning that components of your design will be able to draw the eye more easily.⠀

H N Y 🥂 2020 was the gift that kept on giving, humbling us over and over and over. The greatest gift was having to spend far more time in our homes than we’d ever anticipated. ⠀

Even after all of this is over, the impact of the pandemic will continue to ripple across industries for years to come and influence change, especially in design.⠀

And if 2020 was the year of zoom calls, 2021will be the year that home offices become a mandatory addition to residences going forward. Just saying. 😅

Striking that balance between compartmentalisation and harmonisation with rest of the home will be key, so that we can still leave work behind when we close the office doors. ⠀

I came across these home office renderings by which I think are brilliant and shows what a dramatic difference there is by simply changing the cabinet colour. I personally love the black cabinets. What do you prefer?

C O U R A G E & D I S C I P L I N E ☆ They say how you spend the last day of the year is how you will spend the rest of your year. So today I've spent the day planning my interior project timelines, putting together an action plan for my studios first year, looking at internships and trying to make it all work while holding onto my day job. ⠀

It's okay to do what you have to do, before you can do what you want to do. As long as you just put one foot in front of the other, remain sincere and disciplined. Its nerve wrecking but I've learned that you can't wait for permission. ⠀

So here's to a new and better year for all. Emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. May we have the courage to pursue what sets our hearts on fire and the discipline to do the work. ⠀

Have a safe NYE all. 🥂⠀

S U B T L E D R A M A ▪︎ There are a handful of knock out luxury residential designers in the UK, one being .interiors. She needs no introduction as she's well established here, with her sensational projects shared constantly across the gram and her portfolio spanning the globe. ⠀

This particular photo is from a multi unit development she worked on in Kensington earlier this year. Beyond this gorgeous arch, every where your eye falls, is a bit of detail that goes one step further. ⠀

Drawing from leading designers, like Laura, it's clear that attention to detail is paramount in interior design. A single curve or the finest panelling can make all the difference. Defining a space by mixing or contrasting materials, creating layers of visual interest while keeping tones in the same palette, these are the elements of a winning design, not to mention quality of materials which will inevitably be dictated by the budget you're working with. ⠀

Nevertheless, being resourceful when it comes to bringing a space to life, mindful of the feeling you need to create and sensitive to how that space will age over time, are all important elements to also consider. ⠀

As a designer, we are problem solvers first and foremost. Then we are creatives. 🤩 ⠀
