Indian antiques naturally stand out in any room with their vivid colours and beautiful hand craftsmanship.
We want our pieces to be practical but with a heavy focus on style and a flair of Indian design. When sourcing in India we always think about how these pieces can be implemented into a modern home.
This quaint brightly coloured antique Damchiya dowry chest is made of teakwood and has the most attractive iron strapwork throughout. It is hand painted and decorated to the front in multi framed panels with a fabulous distressed blue.
The chest has metal carrying handles to either side and is also raised on wooden wheels, making it easy to move around. This beautifully decorative dowry chest is a characterful period piece.

A fantastic example of this is our pair of upcycled Bullock cart chairs. They showcase the charm and rustic appeal of rural Indian culture, while providing comfortable seating options.

This brightly painted versatile chest depicts images of Samudra Manthan, 'the churning of the ocean', a complex and fascinating story, which explains the origin of Amrita, the 'Elixir of Eternal Life', which has been told and retold for centuries.
The hand-painted images on the box tell the story of how the Gods and Demons churned the ocean of milk to create the nectar of immortality. It is a reminder of the power of cooperation and conflict, and the importance of working together to achieve a common goal.
This antique Palkhi or Palanquin, is a sacred carriage that would have been used to carry the revered statue or image of a god or goddess during religious processions or festivals. Crafted from richly carved wood and adorned with delicate motifs, devotees, with great reverence, would carry the Palkhi, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere, indicating the deity's presence among the worshipers.
Its historical significance makes it a captivating artifact representing the splendor and elegance of the past.

Indian temple carvings are renowned for their intricate beauty and exquisite craftsmanship. They reflect the rich cultural and religious heritage of India and are found in various architectural styles across the country.

This two-headed horse is a delightful creation, expertly crafted in wood and its vibrant colors enhance its appeal, while its unique feature of two exquisitely carved heads facing opposite directions sparks curiosity.
