"Kuweni: Her Legacy, Our Struggle" ✊
Introduction:
"Kuweni: Her Legacy, Our Struggle" is a contemporary dance production that interlaces the ancient legend of Kuweni, a powerful sorceress from Sri Lankan folklore, with the vibrant pulse of modern feminist movements. This performance seeks to draw parallels between Kuweni's trials and triumphs and the ongoing journey for women's rights and empowerment across the globe.
Production Director Note-
I am Sithumini Amarasingha, an MA Public Art & Performance student at London Metropolitan University. As a Sri Lankan traditional dance artist, I specialize in working with contemporary ideas on feminism, cultural engagement, and gender disparity. My experience spans international dance productions in the USA, Germany, and Italy.
This production serves as my final exam project at London Metropolitan University and includes planned dance shows in London and potentially across the globe.
You have the opportunity to join this international dance project, participate in global dance festivals, and enhance your portfolio with international performance production experience. This is an excellent chance for those looking to apply for a Global Talent Visa or seeking to expand their artistic credentials.

මේ ඉන්නෙ වත්සදි චූටි මල 🌸මගේ අම්බලන්ගොඩ පන්තියෙ දක්ශ උනන්දුවක් තියෙන චූටිම චූටි දුවෙක් ❤️
මම මෙයාල එක්ක උපරිම මාස 7ක් වගේ චූටි කාලයක් තමයි හිටියෙ. පන්ති නවත්තලත් දැන් අවුරුද්දකටත් වැඩි. අද ගුරු දිනය කියල මාව මතක් වෙලා ලස්සනට එයාම හදාගෙන තනියම Makeup කරගෙන ගෙදර අයියයි අම්මයි එක්ක එකතු වෙලා ලස්සනට video එකක් කරල එවනව.
ඉතින් මේ චූටි මල මෙච්චර කැපවීමක් කරද්දි අගය නොකර කොහොමද? ☺️😘
මගෙ වත්සදි පුතේ ඔයාට හරිම ලස්සන චූටි හිතක් තියෙන්නෙ. මට හම්බුන හරිම හොද දරුවෙක් ඔයා. හැමදාම කියනව වගේ හොදට ඉගෙන ගන්න. ❤️
ආදරෙයි ටීචර් හැමදාම ලෝකෙ කොහේ හිටියත් එදා වගේම. ❤️🤗
මගේ පන්තියට අවුරුද්දකටත් අඩු කාලෙකින් ලමයි 140-180 අතර ආව. ඒ හැමෝටම මම හරිම ආදරෙයි. චූටිම චූටි ලස්සන හදවත් ඒ හැමෝටම තිබුනෙ. අදටත් මගෙ පැටවුන්ගෙ මතකයන් එක්ක මේ ගමන යනව. කවද හරි නැවතත් ලංකාවෙදි හමුවෙමු. 🇬🇧❤️👩🎓

Along with learning how to properly strengthen their body, ballet teaches kids basic ways to stay healthy.
This includes proper stretching techniques, flexibility practices, and discovering physical limits.
It’s important that kids learn this at a young age so they can avoid injury in the future and establish healthy habits. 🥰👧🏻

In a Ballet class when you are focused on the placement of your body and co-ordination with the music in the moment, you are able to escape from the stresses of everyday life. 🥰
The physical workout of Ballet releases endorphins giving you a real feel good factor, during and after class. ☺️
Additionally, classical music has been shown to have positive, calming influences on the brain and aids focus and concentration, all helping to create happy Ballet dancers! ☺️
Galle Ballet Class
Pointe work in classical ballet is formalized by pointe technique. It is performed in pointe shoes. Pointe technique means that ballet dancer performs on the tips of fully extended feet and in this way ballet dancer supports all body weight. Sometimes ballet dancer has to flex the toes to have the perfect alignment of this technique. 🥰

Ballet is an art form. It inspires children to be creative and learn how to express themselves through movement. With music accompaniment in all of our classes, children are exposed to an even truer sense of relationship between dance and music. Also, classical ballet is a great starting point for those who want to explore other forms of dance as well. ☺️
Pointe technique is one of the most iconic element of ballet. The inspiration for pointe technique is the wish that ballet dancer appears weightless, lightfooted and graceful while jumping and looks lightweight like defying gravity. 🥰
