ROKA employ multiple methods to restore architectural masonry. When micro-abrasive methods are restricted, a chemical peel is used to removal several layers of paint from delicate floral cast cornice/corbels.

A very brief video to illustrate why we refer to our system as being "Micro-Abrasive" as opposed to "Sand Blasting". As most people identify this type of work as being the latter, we tend to offer reasons as to why it is different. The main reason is: We do NOT use sand - it is illegal!
Please take a look at our video. I'm negotiating video camera in one hand whilst blasting with the other!
ROKA are able to take its restoration technology into your home
using our highly portable micro-abrasive cleaning technology.
These photos were taken after we had removed the old dark brown stain and varnish from oak veneer panels, stair treads, handrails and intricate spindles.
By gently blasting the hardwood, we were able to keep intricate detail intact, and finish a very laborious task in no time.
The wall panels were made of an oak veneer of only 2mm! To apply a sanding machine to this panel would have completely removed the veneer.
ROKA UK LTD has successfully completed the project which included: 1. Removal of several layers of paint. 2. Removal of pointing. 3. Replacement of severely damaged bricks. 4. Re-point using NHL 3.5 lime mortar. 5. Render and make good all sills and decorative concrete. 6. Paint decorative concrete. 7. New door -on order!
From an ugly duckling...
The layers of masonry paint have been removed and the micro-abrasive blasting and the removal of the old pointing has been undertaken. The brick display their natural shape, colour and character.
Next will be the application of the Red Lime Mortar pointing. To the lower level, the bricks have had a lime render base coat applied. A Red Lime Render finish coat will be applied.
We will update you soon. ROKA UK LTD
These are just some of the applications that ROKA are able to tender for and complete.
ROKA undertook the abrasive cleaning to the brickwork of this dwelling. The pointing is original, and did not warrant having it replaced, however, it was also cleaned and made to look almost new. The process took approximately 2 days, thus not inconveniencing the vendors and neighbours.
