Our childhood dessert ❤️

It goes by many names but we call it Cusma lui Guguta.

Guguta’s hat (Cușma lui Guguță) is an all time favourite dessert among moldovans.

Its name originated from a children’s story about a boy named Guguță who had a magic sheepskinhat. It could expand as much as to fit all his friends and the entire village under it to protect them from the harsh winter. The dessert was named after it due to the resemblence to the traditional sheepskin hat.

The dessert is made by stacking rolls of crêpes filled with sour cherries 🍒 to form a pyramid shape. Coated with dense sour cream whipped with sugar and sprinkled with shredded dark chocolate 🍫

Our business initiated from a personal longing for home and the struggle of finding our traditional foods in London.
And we understood we needed to change that 💪

We started our business with our people in mind, not just Moldovans but everyone that shares the same values and struggles as us 🤍

You might be wondering where our name came from and what it means 🤔

HOROVOD which means to lead the “HORA” is a dance that is traditionally found in eastern european cultures.

The folk dance is performed by moving around in a circle and the circular shape represents unity, joy and people being cheerful together 🥳
