How to stay calm under pressure.
Knowing how to stay calm is a very important skill. However, this skill tends to deteriorate under stressful or distracting conditions. Staying calm under extreme pressure is much more challenging than staying calm under moderate conditions.
For example, hitting a golf balls with your friends is relatively easy. But add 5,000 spectators and some TV cameras and see how well you do.
Imagine being calm and peaceful at all times. How would your life change?
A greater ability to manage one’s emotions is invaluable!
Follow these suggestions and keep calm under pressure:
1. Start your day being calm and make every effort to stay that way. A calming morning ritual, performed religiously, will get your mind and body in the proper state. Then the only real task is staying that way throughout the day.
* A good morning often results in a good day, just like a good Monday often results in a good week.
2. Monitor yourself. Continuously monitor your reactions to stressful events. How do you feel physically? What thoughts do you have? Do you use self-talk? Notice everything that has changed.
3. Bring yourself back to your calm state. If your self-talk has become negative, take control and stop it.
Turn it around and make it positive.
If your heart is beating faster, take slow, deep breaths and relax.
4. Remember that it’s not all about you. Avoid assuming that a negative event says anything about you.
5. Find some healthy coping habits. Many of us shop, drink, or eat when we’re stressed. That’s a good way to end up poor, drunk, and overweight, all of which can add their own stress. Develop some new habits that are actually good for you.
6. Eliminate clutter from your environment. This includes all types of clutter, including excessive noise and other distractions.
7. Get enough sleep. It’s much easier to remain calm when you’ve had 7 hours of sleep rather than only 4.
8. Ask yourself questions. Questions can determine our focus and influence our actions.
* Is this really going to make a difference? Does it matter? Is the other person overreacting? Am I over reacting?
* Am I stressed about the past, present, or future?
9. Take a break. If you’re unable to remain calm, give yourself a few minutes to regroup. Some time alone can have positive results.
Staying calm in challenging situations can be difficult, but it’s a learnable skill.

Our physical state of being is a reflection of our fleshly desires….
💚 Overweight, poor health, stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, annoyed…
💚 Our triggers reveal truths (what we need to heal) ….. our emotions are driven by our desires...
💚 Every addiction is a disorder of worship....
What are you chasing that has led you to this state of being?
People say "life shouldn't be this hard or this stressful" and they're right….. it's not intended to be …… it's our prideful nature, the things we are chasing …
If you're pursuing a life directed by your own desires (wealth, fame, social status, to be the best and have the most), you're putting a stumbling block in front of yourself in respect to the way your life is carried out ……
💥💥💥
What things do you value the most?
Would you give up the things dearest to you, your house, car, job, toys "the things you tell yourself you worked hard for and you "deserve" materialistic things, worldly possessions ….?
What about your prejudices, bad habits, fears, hatreds, procrastinations, weaknesses, selfish interests, false identities, prideful self image……?
💥💥💥
What we seek, we will find.
What we see in others is a reflection of how we feel internally.
What will a person give in exchange for their soul?
Seek something greater than yourself, humble yourself in all that you do and watch how your life changes! ❤

Why do we put on weight, especially as we get older ?
There are many issues involving weight gain including environmental, biological and behavioural factors, many of which are complex and interrelated. Medical reasons account for only a tiny fraction of overweight and obesity worldwide. The one simple reason that many people are getting fatter is that every day of our lives we are eating far more calories than we actually need.
Genetics
We are all born with a specific body type or “somatotype” which are:
·
Ectomorph - long bones, slim, little body fat, low potential for muscle growth.
· Mesomorph - heavy bones, broad hands, broad chest, high muscle deposition.
· Endomorph - small bones, short limbs, wide hips, generally “round”, gains weight easily.
It is true that everyone is dealt a genetic hand of cards at birth.
Studies of twins have demonstrated that even when separated and living in different households, youngsters will tend to retain the parental genetic shape and they may be inclined to put on weight alongside lean non-related siblings. Often this is seen as an unfair burden to carry through life, which can lead to resentment or poor lifestyle choices.
However it is now recognised that the environmental and behavioural contributory factors are so powerful that they are overriding the genome and even people that may be programmed to be thin are becoming overweight and obese.
It is essential to remember that although we all start life with a set hand of cards, ultimately it is how we play those cards that really matter – no one has to be overweight.

An easy early morning fix, to take complete ownership of your day!
What is anxiety and how to deal with it?
Some examples of anxiety symptoms are: feeling nervous or on edge, an increased heart rate, shortness of breath, a dry mouth, trembling, sweating, nausea, light-headedness and thinking that something bad is going to happen.
Although unpleasant, anxiety can actually be very helpful. In fact it can warn and protect us when we are in danger. For example, most of us would feel anxious standing on the edge of a cliff without any barriers. The feeling of anxiety motivates us to move away from the edge.
Therefore, anxiety alerts us to possible danger and prepares our body to respond to the danger.
This is known as the ‘Fight-or- Flight’ response.
This response includes:
• breathing more quickly to get more oxygen to the muscles
• increased heart rate to increase blood flow to the muscles
• increased muscle tension to be able to react quickly
• digestion slows down
• saliva production decreases, causing a dry mouth
• a release of adrenaline, which can cause trembling
• sweating to cool the body down in anticipation of physical exertion
• the mind becomes focused on the threat or scans our environment for further threat
When the danger has passed, the body returns to a less anxious state.

Now you’re in your 40’s, 50’s or even 60 plus…
Are you living the life and career you truly want?
Do you wake up every day feeling happy and joyful?
Are you the weight and the shape you want to be?
Would you like to know how to manage your stress levels?
I have worked as a Lifestyle expert for over 25 years now, and in that time have been on BBC TV, presented and guested on radio and appeared in the national press and magazines.
I have helped literally thousands of people deal with most of the issues in their lives that have been holding them back or causing them problems for untold years!
Anxiety, fear, sadness, guilt, lack of confidence, no self esteem, managing stress, losing weight, how to eat and exercise properly without starving yourself, dieting or having to go to the gym on a daily basis.
Just ordinary people like you!
Ordinary people who would love to further their self development by learning how to really feel good about themselves through emotional, nutritional and physical well-being and manage the stress in their lives.
By using the most modern, exciting cutting-edge techniques I can teach you easily and effortlessly how to move forward in your life and also give you the support you need, when you need it.
So many people carry around “emotional baggage” for years, sometimes all their lives, thinking that it’s something that they just have to live with, or they’ve carried it for so long it just becomes second nature to constantly have it in their lives and they feel it can never go away, or that the only “cure” is years of therapy.
I’ve proved countless times over and over again, this is simply not the case, and emotional baggage can be “obliterated” from your life in a matter of hours, literally!
Imagine that no more fear, anxiety, sadness or carrying around that guilt you have done for years, imagine the feelings of joy, happiness and freedom that would bring into your life and what a POSITIVE difference it could make to you and your life.
Many others have imposed “limiting beliefs” on themselves, limiting beliefs which act as a constant barrier, a barrier which limits everything they want to achieve in their lives. Sometimes these “limiting beliefs” are created or been placed there by well meaning friends or relatives, and they’ve “unconsciously” held you back from achieving your full potential in everything you do or attempt to do.
You’ve heard the kind of thing I’m talking about “oh, she’s never been very good at that, even her teachers said so” or something like “I don’t know why he keeps trying to do that, it never works for him” or “don’t worry dear, you’ve always been big boned” or even “it’s no use, that kind of thing runs in our family” or “it’s no use, I’ll never get this done”.
Negative messages constantly playing in your mind over and over and over again, filling you with feelings of learned helplessness.
You know what I’m talking about don’t you?
All these things have acted as unconscious barriers or limiting beliefs in your lives and have probably caused a lot of psychological damage over the years and held you back or even prevented you from moving forward in your life.
Well, they don’t have too any longer!

To increase your energy, especially as you enter your40’s plus, you must exercise consistently. That’s not news to anybody. But it’s too easy to make excuses as to why we don’t exercise.
Two of the biggest are ‘I just don’t have time’ and ‘I’m just too tired’.
There is no limit to the excuses that you can think of. The more creative you are the more excuses you can come up with.
What excuses are you using or are you just getting it done?

I find it ironic that a safe is a box where you put you’re “most valuable possessions” because that’s exactly what happens when you “play it safe” in life trying to protect & maintain the things you have worked hard for - you limit yourself, you confine yourself to a box…….
If you only go when the task seems doable, you’re never gonna experience the unthinkable …..
If you limit your experiences to circumstances where you can see the beginning to the end - you can understand how it can happen - it all makes sense to you - you can figure it all out on your own - You say to yourself “ I can get involved in this, I see where this is going, I can assure myself that it’s not going to be disappointing …..
You are going to miss opportunities!!! You are going to live a mundane, unfulfilling life!
The faith aspect is that you’re going because of an inclination, a leading, a suggestion from the universe, but you don’t know why, you don’t know where, in fact it just seems crazy.
We talk ourselves out of the opportunities that life puts in our path because we’re only making room for the rational, the logical, the sensible, THE SAFE!
The thing that often gets in our way is that voice!
We need to learn how to SHUT UP that voice inside us.
The voice of reason, why it can’t work, why it shouldn't work or shouldn't be done.
💥Stop thinking about why the world wouldn’t approve of it.
💥Stop rationally evaluating life on terms that are within your sight & control because that’s where you set boundaries for miracles.
If life calls you to do something and it seems impossible - all that you’ve realised is, there’s potentially a miracle waiting!
Get involved!
Walk in blind faith - go eagerly without a plan!
It’s not about your ability, it’s about your availability, willingness and obedience!
Tomorrow isn’t promised…… The next 5 minutes aren't promised…… the time is now…… be surprisable, allow life to be EXCITING, MYSTERIOUS and FULFILLING!

When you’re 40 plus or older…It's all about the journey not the destination.
Life is a constant journey and it constantly fluctuates. That's why when you actually obtain a goal, or achieve something that you set your desire and intent on, all of a sudden that particular journey is over and it begins again, as you set a new goal, a new journey.
As people, as humans, we will never be satisfied, for no sooner do we arrive/achieve our goal, than we we're looking for the very next one!
Recognise this fact and always be prepared to be travelling.

If you’re 40 plus or even 50 plus self-confidence and self-esteem can take a knock!
Here’s my take on self confidence and what you can do to increase yours.
I’ve found over the years, that if you wear and project your confidence like a “shield of invincibility” only good and positive things ever come back to you.
Want to give it a try, here are my tips?
Self-confidence is a skill that you nourish and train; it is not something you gain overnight.
Some people will have a big amount of self-confidence naturally, and it'll show in how they behave and handle situations.
However, some people go through traumas or bad experiences that take a toll on their self-confidence, potentially leaving them with low self esteem.
Let's go through a few tips that can help you boost your self-confidence or self esteem, helping you lead a better and healthier lifestyle.
10 Tips To Boost Your Self-Confidence:
Shut down negative thoughts:
"It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts." Robert H. Schuller
It's about time you said goodbye to the negative voices in your head. Whenever you have a negative thought about yourself, your job, or your career, you push yourself down a little bit more. You need to stop listening to the negativity and start replacing those negative thoughts with positive ones.
Instead of saying you can't do this or that, tell yourself you can, and sooner or later, you'll start believing it. Negativity only leads to negativity; it demotivates you to be your best or do any good. So next time you get a negative thought, quickly replace it with a positive one. And then, when you have that positive thought, turn it into action.
Surround yourself with positivity:
It's not just enough to have positive thoughts and implement them. The people around you and in your life have a huge influence on your self-confidence. Surround yourself with people who push you up and push you towards what you want in life, not people that make you feel bad about yourself.
Your environment, family, and friends can make all the difference in how you feel about yourself. They are the main pillar in encouraging you to believe in yourself. So, it's time to clean your contacts list. Pull out all the bad weeds that negatively take you down and make you feel bad.
3. Learn how to say "NO":
"One of the hardest expressions of self-assertiveness is challenging limited beliefs.” Nathaniel Branden
You need to take control of your own life and decisions. Don't be bullied into doing something that'll make you feel uncomfortable and go beyond your boundaries. Be assertive and don't be afraid to say no when you need to.
You may think that you're being mean or don't want to upset someone. You might come up with a list of excuses as to why you should say yes. But the truth is, saying yes to something you don’t want to do will only hurt yourself and your confidence.
It's time for a makeover:
In this point, we're going to put forward the opposite idea of "change happens from inside out." This doesn't mean you have to get an actual makeover or dress in pricey clothes. But even the simplest changes in our image can make us feel good about ourselves.
For example, try a new hairdo, get a haircut, shave this morning, or even wear that t-shirt you think you look good in. Making little tweaks to your self-image will make you feel good on the inside too. So yes, sometimes how you look on the outside matters.
Change how you see yourself:
We behave and feel according to our self-image. So if you feel like you're a loser at life, you'll walk with your shoulders slumped and avoid eye contact. If you feel like you're not physically attractive, you'll avoid looking in mirrors, and so on. Changing how you see yourself, realising your self worth, and working on your body language, eye contact, and speech will make you more confident in yourself. We must all remember that nobody's perfect in life.
Identify the aspects of your image you don't like and see what you can do about them. Alternatively, you can try focusing on the things you do like about your self-image and saying them out loud to yourself until you believe it. Be confident in the way you carry yourself, even if you don't necessarily feel that way just yet. Pull your shoulders back, stand tall, and talk slowly and clearly. How you act in front of others will not only make them think you're confident but will boost your confidence.
