🌟5 Tips how to make Christmas the best time of the year for deaf children 🎄
As Christmas is approaching, we thought about the little ones and how you can ensure they have a great time during the festivities.
1. Speak one at a time. This way, you don’t overwhelm the children and avoid confusion or misunderstandings.
2. Let the children know what is happening in advance. This will help them feel more secure, and everyone will be able to relax and enjoy the festivities.
3. Ensure good lighting to make lip reading easier. Ask the children whether they are happy with the lightning.
4. Play visual games, like quizzes and board games. It’s a great way to include deaf children.
5. Watch a Christmas story in BSL. There are quite a few lovely stories on YouTube you can watch with the kids in BSL. Alternatively, make sure to turn on the subtitles before starting to watch a movie.
We hope you found this tips useful 🌟 We would love to hear your tips on how to make Christmas more inclusive for deaf children. 💛
Feel free to share them with us in the comments below 😍👇🏼

As the festive season approaches, we thought about meaningful gifts catered to those with hearing loss.✨ Here are four ideas:

🌎 Let’s talk about the three best countries to visit as a Deaf person ✈️😍
Our deaf colleague Deeshi loves to travel, and these are her top picks when it comes to travel destinations …😍
No. 1: Sweden 🇸🇪
Most Swedish citizens are making efforts to help, and they try to communicate with Deaf people without hesitation. There are a multitude of outdoor activities to do, but for Deeshi, the highpoint was the ABBA Museum!⛴️
No. 2: Scotland 🏴
Most people in Scotland treat Deaf people as they would anyone else, and even when some of them noticed that Deeshi and one of her friends had a cochlear implant, they went above and beyond to make sure that they were comfortable to converse with them. There are so many positives for Deaf people and Deaf tourists in Scotland, such as BSL translations on public transport, and accessible entertainment in museums.
No. 3: Spain 🇪🇸
A great benefit for Deaf tourists in Spain is that they have sign language tours for Deaf tourists who would like to enjoy the great sightseeing in Spanish cities such as Madrid, Seville and other cities.
If you would like to get more tips about traveling as a Deaf person around the world, let us know in the comments 👇🏼
