Borough Market is the home of Bread Ahead, founded in 2013 in the very same building you find us in today. Things have changed somewhat over the years but our ethos remains the same; simple quality ingredients that speak for themselves. We sell bread fresh from our ovens, pastries, cakes and of course our doughnuts 7 days a week. Come and try a slice of our famous sourdough pizza, baked fresh everyday. Our bakery school is open 5 days a week.

The school opened in 2014.
Then we opened a few London locations.
Then we opened Jeddah, Dubai and Riyadh….

If I wouldn’t have heard saying “London calling”, 4 years ago I wouldn’t have the sourdough skills I have now. I’m so thankful for everything I learned from Matthew, Kevan, Manuel, and all of their diligent camera crew helpers Erika, Kat, and Poppy! During the lockdown it gave me purpose, and so much joy to learn all of the baking techniques that offered. I am beyond thankful for all the energy and efforts that everyone put into all the teaching. I’m praying I can teach someday, and share in all the joy sourdough baking has to offer. (Albeit, I did say a lot of bad words during the beginning of my journey, and sometimes still do😂)

Wow, how times fly.
Jeddah was the first overseas location for Bread Ahead, we have been open now for almost 2 years.
Since then we have opened bakeries in Riyadh and Dubai.
We have established a loyal following in the city, our Breads, Pastries and Doughnuts have been warmly embraced by the local community.
We have developed some local specialties that are flying off the shelves- most notably the Zatar Croissant.
